The Football365 website has, just for fun, made a combination team from players from Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Yoo. Amazingly Vieira doesn't make the side, Keane and Gerrard are the central midfield. A complete disgrace. Also, Pires doesn't make the side, instead Giggs and Beckham get the berths on the wings. I agree that they put together a crappy side. Basically, they took Man United and gave them Dudek, Hyppia, Cole, Campbell, Gerrard and Henry... Combining these sides - I'd dump the Man Utd players and go with... ---Dudek--- Lauren--Hyppia--Campbell--Cole Ljungberg--Viera--Gerrard--Pires ---Henry---Owen--- Subs: Bergkamp, Riise, Henchoz (double as keeper), Xavier, Wiltord, Seaman Ljungberg over Beckham - while Becks is a better crosser, he tends to disappear for most of the match. He lacks the fire and grit that Freddie brings to the table. Viera over Keane - With Roy "I've lost the plot" Keane, you risk a red with every tackle. Spends too much time yelling at his own teammates! Pires over Giggs - while Giggs is class, he tends to get lost and certainly doesn't have the 'finishing' touch of Pires. Owen over Ruud - Personal preference. While Ruud is a "fox in the box" he lacks the pace of Owen or Henry. With both these speedsters up top, opposition defenses would get caught out frequently if the defenders push forward... Lauren over Neville - The Neville brothers are the reason that England will not win a major honor! They are donkey's masquarading as "quality" players. I've heard more Man Utd supporters boo them and more Man Utd haters cheer them than any other players! Their passing is poor, decision making questionable, crossing occassionally passable, and whinning is quite good!
I would assume they left out Ljungberg and Pires due to injury but to put Keane in the mix is outrageous. Vieira has not been in form this year so far, but to say Keane has been more influential....come on! Has Ruud even scored yet, besides a penalty. I would assume they dont want Owen because he hasnt scored yet this season. Ruud hasnt been any better. In fact not one ManU offensive player should be mentioned being they have only scored a couple of goals as a team. Wouldnt you think Wiltord would be up front. He does lead the league in scoring. HAHA
The NEVILLE BROTHERS are known affectionally as "THE CHUCKLE BROTHERS" who are a crap-comedy children's entertaining duo that feature on TV once a week. "Note the comparison"!!!!
