Even though some players have already retired from international duties(they were all right to do so........!!!) such as Djorkaeff,Dugarry,Blanc,Deschamps,etc......I think some in the FNT needs to understand that,to my humble opinion, and for the common good,it is time to go NOW!!!!In order to have a VERY competitive team for the Euro' 2004 and for the WC 2006 in Germany,I think the following players shall go: 1-DESAILLY:he gave an waful lot to the team since he was introduced in it in 1989,but he will be very old by 2006,and there actually is replacment ready(Boumsong,Mexes...) 2-PETIT:same.And honestly,he doesn't give very much to them now.....replacment is too ready.but they shall play in order to have enough toughness for WC 2006. what do you think of that??
I think Desailly, Petit and Lizarazu should all stick around through Euro 2004. If I were Santini (and I think he is doing this) now is the time to slowly give some younger players a chance in these veterans positions but I wouldn't kick them out of the team completely. I think Makelele should start over Petit now but Desailly and Lizarazu still deserve to start for France.
I AGREE WITH YOU......... I agree that most of them(at least Petit and Lizarazu...) should stay until Euro' 2004.After that, let Makelele(who will be old soon too...LOL) his chance once and for all,at last!!! As well,I'll take this post as a chance to share with you all my fear: I'm scared,as a Frenchman that the French team, which I believe will qualify for Euro 2004 pretty easily and soon now, facing only teams like Israel,Slovenia,Cyprus and Malta, will not anymore be used to real dangerous team.Add to this stupid friendlies against the likes of Egypt(no offense...),and I predict,if the friendlies are not getting tougher oppositions, that France could sink AGAIN in this coming Euro. But does the Federation sees it??I sure do hope so...........your opinion?
