Hankinsen, Powell, starting 11, only 4 points, blah blah blah. How about a discussion of a real problem which has been bothering me. I can't stand the new "Game On" intro just before the start of the game. I much preferred what they used last year. It made such an impression I can't even remember what it was, but I do know I didn't hate it like the current one. Are those nicknames for real????

Agreed. The new promo sucks. I thought those promos were supposed to get people fired up, this year's only seems to make people drowsy at the start.

When I saw the new "game on" promo before the home opener, I thought "hmmm...must be a way to wake everyone up for the season...no way they'll use it every week."

We give the Rapids a hard time when things are bad, and not enough support when things are good.

Last year's promo was damn good (even the terrible pictures they cycle through were entertaining - especially with it all blowing up on Landon Donovan's picture). It was much more uhhh, "black and blue".

That's funny, I remember thinking the exact same thing. I also don't remember the official giving the 2 then 1 minute warnings while that goofy promo labors on. Perhaps they did it last year but it was interesting enough I watched it and didn't notice.

I agree, this years promo sucks.
I miss the scene from Braveheart they used to show.
I also miss the "Gracias senor, uno mas por favor" from the Mooch and Paz days (pardon the poor spanish). They were funny but attention catching.
I'd actually prefer the old ole ole ole over the current Mission impossible crap.

I knew this whole bad coaching, bad season stuff was just a cover up so we wouldn't complain about the pre-game promo. Very Clever.

But seriously, as if it wasn't embarassing enough at Game 1, it's even more ridiculous now considering our team hasn't been much of a threat at all. Just play some hard fast music like last years drowning pool (or whatever they play at the end of this years promo), include that with some highlights of OUR players and that will be cool as a pre-game promo could get.

I miss last year's promo for no other reason that a good looking woman who sits in my section used to get into that music and dance and move to it. Sure, I had to sneak looks so my wife and kids didn't know what a lech I was, but I looked forward to that every game. I also used to catch the father/husband of our seat neighbors olgling her as well. So that is two more of us that vote for the old promo.

    Promo-no

Where are those dancing cows when we need them??? Seriously, the first time I saw the promo, it got my attention slightly. After that, it was just dumb and boring. The minute it starts, everyone can't wait for it to be over. By the way, it appeared to me at the last match that the referees were ready to start the match, but they too were waiting for it to end. Tell me that isn't true!

The last 2 matches I noticed everyone on the field waiting. On each occasion, with the promo lumbering on, the center official first held up 2 fingers (2 minute warnring), then 1 and a minute later the kick off. I suspect the timing is for TV not the promo, but that's just a guess.

The wait is for the TV not anything else.

Agreed, last year they barely got through half of the pregame promo before the game would start.
