I bet Adidas did this on purpose to get the black kit in a high profile game.

I feel like all the Adidas kits in the Premier League this season have the same kit "template". I can't think of a single Adidas team that doesn't have the same rounded shirt bottom with the contrasting "stripes" on the back of the shorts.

Must have been a layoff year in the design department.

The short stripes, if we HAD to have them, should have been red and the blue on the shirt shouldn't go.

I would hope the club gave Adidas a warning here, playing a NLD in anything but the red is a big no no in my book and Adidas being lazy and giving us a template, and a shit one at that, is worse in my eyes than when Puma were trying weird shit with out shirts.

Generally agree with @And_ROOS..... My take...... I don't like that Adidas made 1 template and is applying it across ALL clubs & NT. The template that they did make isn't terrible. There are teams that actually have very nice looking kits. BUT.... their attempt at our kit with that template was awful. However, if you look at the template and change the color of certain panels, I think you can see the potential for a good kit. Something as simple as taking our current home kit and replace the white panel that goes from armpit to armpit (across the butt) and make it red. Does that not make most everyone significantly happier? Adidas just shit the bed.

I also hate that our away black kit is a ********ing mess and it feels like Adidas were like "but if we tie it to two Arsenal legends and call it a tribute to them then anyone who complains about it looks like they dislike those players" which has generally been the rhetoric online.

Adidas have been VERY lazy with this kit, but even with this kit if you changed the colours it would still look better. The blue is far far too prominent, and there is too much white.

The top is ok but the shirts are a disaster

I have come to like the away kit now

Agree on the blue, though I suspect that if you had more red the blue would be less noticeable

The away is terrible because it is designed terribly. The "tribute" to 2 Arsenal legends is literally a couple stripes. If you really wanted to make it a tribute, make the patterned fabric the primary "color". Have a feeling that something as simple as reversing the panels so the black panels are now the "tribute" panels and the tribute panels are now black would make for a much better top. Leave the shorts as is to create contrast and keep dark shorts.

I get it's only a rumor, but that rumor only seems to make sense if the crest is monochrome (no blue or gold).

Assume red and white only means no blue ribbons not that the badge won't be the badge or the premier league lion won't be purple

Yeah if this is true it’s disappointing. I thought for sure these experiments with the cannon were the precursor to a full rebrand and elimination of the current badge.

The only time the badge looks good is when it, as others have said, is monochrome but even then the cannon is superior.

Surely after 20 odd years its time for a new badge.,

Maroon kit was the 05/06 home. From what I've read people are expecting something like the 07/08 away....

Rooting interests aside and strictly as a neutral, dark red and gold is my favorite color scheme in sports. Roma, Southern Cal, Cleveland Cavs. Florida State with more of an old gold.

I always liked yellow/purple combo as in the Lakers, Vikings, etc.

Yellow/blue of course is sweet I.e.as in the away kit that Arsenal should always wear IMHO.
