    greetings, all....

hello, this is my first post to bigsoccer. i admit to following the english league, and to a lesser extent the american league, most avidly, but i will be in the netherlands this january and would love to catch a couple of matches while there. the threads regarding dutch rivalries and supporters on this board have been very interesting and informative. thanks.

i'll be in amsterdam the wknd of january 29-30, will attempt to get tickets to the jan 30 ajax fixture against ado den haag from ticketbox (i'll be arriving in amsterdam on the 27th); should that be doable, or are those tickets likely to sell out further in advance?

i've got more questions on the jan 29 fixtures. was all set to see nac breda-heerenveen but that match has been moved to the 30th. other matches that day include fc twente-feyenoord and vitesse-roosendaal. i've contacted both clubs, vitesse wrote back saying getting tickets for that match won't be a problem. does anyone have any recommendations on seating at the gelredome? how is the atmosphere, generally? i haven't had a response from fc twente, do you think that may be a tough ticket to get as they are playing feyenoord?

anyway, any insights/opinions would be welcomed, i've already learned a lot from reading the other threads.

    many thanks,
    dave

Ajax-Den Haag is no sell out, but probably classified a high risk match. So getting a ticket will probably require you registering at Ajax first.

Vitesse seating is about the same all round the stadium. Besides they don' usually sell out anymore. Vitesse - RBC isn't really a high profile match so I wouldn't expect a nuthouse so to speak.

thanks for your input, afca, much appreciated. i've been in touch with ajax about the den haag match, they say it will at least be a near sell out, and that it is a high risk match. i've asked them about club card registration. seems getting tix for vitesse won't be a problem, still no word from fc twente on the feyenoord match.

maybe i'll start a new thread to open this next question up a little, but any thoughts on attending eerstedivisie matches? i see that telstar is home the wknd i'm in amsterdam.

    thanks again....

I'm a Twente fan so can comment on Twente v Feyenoord. The Twente home sections virtually always are fully sold out (to season ticket holders), the away section will be for registered Feyenoord fans only and as it is a high-risk game they'll arrive at the stadium in a group, travelling by either bus or train from Rotterdam. In short: sorry but I think your chances of going to that game are very slim, unless you know a Twente sponsor with a skybox!

thanks, johan. kind of what i figured. my connections amongst rotterdam's elite are pretty lean, so looks like i'll be catching my football elsewhere that day....
