When reading about the Wales game, I got tired of hearing everyone talk about how this is our B team, C team, whatever, so I decided to actually figure out what our A, B, and C teams would look like, assuming everyone is healthy and available. I picked 18 players for each (a team, not just a starting lineup).

    A team:

Starters-Friedel, Hejduk, Bocanegra, Pope, Sanneh, Mastroeni, Beasley, Reyna, O'Brien, Donovan, McBride

Bench-Keller, Berhalter, Cherundolo, Stewart, Armas, Lewis, Mathis

    B team:

Starters-Howard, Vanney, Agoos, Califf, Garcia, Mulrooney, Convey, Jones, Klein, Wolff, Twellman

Bench-Rimando, Barrett, Martino, Ralston, Olsen, Cunningham, Kirovski

    C team:

Starters-A.Brown, Regis, Suarez, Llamosa, Petke, Cullen, Victorine, Williams, Moore, Razov, Buddle

Bench-Cannon, CJ Brown, Gibbs, Lagos, Thorrington, Ching, Casey

I picked mostly based on who I thought Arena would pick. You can debate the starters, but I think these are pretty accurate.

I think Convey has moved up to the A team's bench and that Buddle is more of a B teamer (who depending on his post injury play, could be another A team sub).

Second team: Keller; Convey, Berhalter, Califf, Hejduk; Jones, Mastroeni, Mulrooney, Klein; Mathis, Wolff

Third team: Howard; Barrett, Garcia, Petke, Cherundolo; Olsen, Armas, Martino, Victorine; Moore, Twellman

I think A, B, and C teams should be done more as a First XI, Second XI and Thrid XI.

Naturally, you would take some of the players from the Second XI for the First XI, and then 3'rd XI players to be subs for the 2'nd XI.
