I'm a little disappointed in the Kroenke articles for one reason. No one even addressed what I think is the most significant quote from the whole teleconference. Tim Lieweike: "There are other announcements in the near future that the Commissioner has been working on diligently with his staff."
Am I the only one who thinks that it is no coincidence that this announcment was made in the midst of the WWC when many more reporters and editors have soccer on the brain? We at BS always want the news out asap, but I'm impressed with Garber's planning and sense of timing.
I think that it was also significant that a deadline for the expansion announcement was also given--November 23rd.
Yeah. I think maybe they wanted to save this up for some pre-MLS Cup hype, but thought that with the WUSA failure and the negative media blitz casting a bullsh** shadow on MLS - get this postive news out there to prove those blind skpetics dead wrong. and I have no idea what the thread title means.
Nice time for Kroenke to join. The first thing he'll get to do is cash a check from the Women's World Cup. Sachin
In reference to: "We the type of people make the club get crunk" from OutKast's "Rosa Parks" However, I had to get help from Google on that, cuz I had no idea either.
Weak. Actually, I dug the thread title. Clever, and obscure (at least for most of the BS crowd). Especially good the day after the new album dropped.
from the San Antonio article. http://news.mysanantonio.com/story.cfm?xla=saen&xlb=200&xlc=1059672 This is the biggest problem I have with that article, or the idea of MLS expanding to San Antonio. The first two wors of the story... The end paragraph is pretty good too... Wouldn't it be a given that a soccer team would play in an outdoor facility?? I hope to god MLS doesn't do this. also. good to see my hometown Norwich Bulletin getting into the act. Chances are come december I might actually wind up writing for that POS paper.
USAToday article on everyone's favorite Ohio State poster child includes MLS as a "major professional sport" (along with the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA and ATP). http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/bigten/2003-09-24-clarett-time-frame_x.htm
