This is going to be a tough match right after a Euro league match that will be an energy drainer. PSV too has a Euro league match, but they can take it easy as they won away with 5-0 or 5-1. The central defense of PSV on the other hand is in my opinion not very good, so there are chances for Jozy. But he will meet the brutal Mark van Bommel too, who will not be kind to any striker that wants to score against them. But if Jozy plays it well, he can get Strootman a red card as this guy seems to think he must top MvBommel, but isnot as smart as him, so ...
Dick Advocaat is cheating. He plays in the Euro League a team of youth players and bench sitters. So he keeps his first team fresh for the AZ encounter, while Verbeek's team has to go the full throttle against Guss Hiddink.
Mmmm, not a confidence booster I guess. PSV wacked their opponent with a youth/bench sitters team with 9-0 and Jozy got wacked 5-0.
Martens probably out for the game, which is a major quality loss to AZ and to Jozy's feed from the mid field.
For those interested in stats: http://eredivisielive.nl/sidekick/wedstrijd/1697167 It is live updated during the PSV-AZ match.
AZ have looked a lot more threatening this half than I'd expect of a side playing PSV with 10 men. It's generally been on the counter with PSV pushing for a second.
One late tackle and one shirt grab. They were both yellows imo. The shirt grab was pretty stupid already being on a yellow.
Missed the first one, but the second card was for pulling down a guy who was on his way getting behind their backline. HT 1-1. AZ still in the game somehow. Impressive effort and some good saves.
Yeah he left the ref no choice with the second. The first I thought he might have got the ball but you can't really argue the yellow there either. AZ blew a great breakaway chance with the cheeky chip going well over.
Janusz Michallik doesn't think Jozy is doing a good job of finding the ball, even and especially with AZ playing with 10 men.
