I really wanted Dube to step up a few weeks back when he scored the hat trick, and while I'm not expecting three goals, we need him to be on that level of play today. Without Dube, we have to rely on Ralston and Dube to step up (again), and as a result it ****s up the midfield dynamic Nicol is so fond of.

I'm hoping to see Videira and Colaluca come off the bench if the starting XI (which is pretty strong comparative to the rest of the season) fails.

Mansally must have done something to get in the doghouse.

    J-E-T-S! JETS!JETS!JETS!:p

Two minutes in and the surface already looks like it's going to play a massive part in this game.

Great work from Nyassi, 35 yard run with a few stepovers before blasting it into the top left corner. Could be a goal of the week candidate in my opinion, but probably not of the quality to win it.

Kenny Mansally (and Sainey Nyassi) have both been fasting for Ramadan, which started August 22nd. I don't want to be controversial or insensitive to others beliefs, but there is a big difference between how a professional athlete needs to eat and how someone observing Ramadan must eat. To me, these players need to do what they feel they need to do, and Nicol needs to pick the best lineup on the day to compete in games.

If anyone is curious what the name of the jai alai basket they were talking about is, it is "cesta," which means basket. I miss Brad Feldman.

The first fifteen minutes were, offensively speaking, beautiful. Quick, fluid passing paired with a composure on the ball and general attacking confidence made for a very pretty product. After the goal, the look of the team reverted to the scrappy functionality we've all known to love.

Defensively, however, we've been erratic for the entire first half. Alston and Barnes have been consistent, though have made a few mistakes which nearly cost us a goal. Osei has been the biggest culprit, if Badilla is fit enough for a half I'd like to see him immediately. Not so much because Osei's play is unbearable, but it's a continuing trend and a message needs to be sent. Then again, we risk bringing on Badilla and playing far worse in the back.

I don't think the team is playing bad, but they're not really playing good either. The pace at which they started needs to be brought back, but sadly it seems the realized how poorly New York were playing and dropped to that level rather than maintain the great first 15's play.

If they don't pick it up I can see New York scoring. If I'm Nicol I tell the team you're not awful, but you need to start playing with confidence again; don't be lazy!

I was sitting on my couch saying Cesta, but I guess they didn't hear me.;)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I, too am missing Brad, at least relative to Greg Lalas doing PBP and some RedBull fan (yeah, I know it's Kyle Martino) doing the color. Maybe Greg won't have to bend over backward to not be a homer this way!

Wow, we dodged a bullet with the non call of Osei on Wolyniec. But that wouldn't have happende if Heaps could actually clear the ball.

Why is Heaps such a lock at left back when we could actually have a leftfooted defender (Badilla) playing there?

I wonder if they practice these Barnes throw-ins at training - because the other Revs never seem to be able to get a head on them.

Did Nicol's substitution alarm clock fail to go off? Was it an AM/PM thing?

Heaps and osei get burned, Wolnyiak (sp?) gives up his body, literally, for the goal.

    Who is this genius?

Seriously though, I saw NY scoring around this time and the Revs getting one or two more to get the three points. If they don't come out with a win I'll be pretty surprised.

Mansally brings nothing to the game, nothing but muckups. He's lucky there's a Wells around to remind us there is worse.
