9/13 Howard: Charlton vs. ManUtd [R] 10 AM EST

Tim starts. Ronaldo starts. Di Canio starts for Charlton.

I'm watching the PPV and will try to keep you guys posted but I'll warn you now that I'll have to leave at about the 60-70 minute mark for another obligation.

Howard off his line to steal a through ball from Eull.

Euell clatters into Howard and gets a yellow for what looks like an intentional trip.

Howard back up and kicking...

 

2: RVN free header from 16 yards goes wide

4: Ronaldo fouled 25 yards out. RVN fouls going for header on free kick

 

5: Euell can't get free of Ferdinand and his chip from 8 yards goes well over Howard's bar

6: Euell wins a free kick from 25 yards just left of center. Free kick absorbed by the wall

 

Euell's speed has looked dangerous in the first 7 minutes or so.

9: Ronaldo being booed by the Charlton supporters just as he is fouled heavily 30 yards out

Giggs free kick find Ronaldo's head 12 yards out but header goes over the bar

 

10: Ronaldo flying down the left side. The Charlton supporters are really on his case.

Throw in to Ronaldo nicely touched to RVN who misses a tough shot from 6 yards.

 

11: Ronaldo again flying through acres of space. Charlton slows him up.

12: Powell's cross to Euell's head easily handled by Howard.

12: Easy shot for Howard to handle frrom 20 yards.

 

15: RVN taken down from behind at the top of the box. No foul given

 

16: Another through ball for Euell but Howard off his line and gets revenge! Howard's knee catches Euell right in the forehead!

 

It didn't really look cynical, Howard was just carrying his knee high to protect himself from the on-rushing Euell. He seems to have gotten Euell in the nose.

 

Euell's trotting back to midfield to rejoin play.

 

20: Euell again pressing the back line for ManUtd. Di Canio's corner handled well by Howard.

 

26: Not much happening in the last 5 minutes or so.

 

29: RVN turns at the 18 but doesn't get all of his shot.

 

32: Break on for Charlton. Defense recovers.

 

35: United shot cleared off the line by the Charlton defense.

 

No. Forlan is not in the game.

 

He is on the subs bench though

 

This game has developed into a rather lackluster affair. What it needs now is a goal from Charlton to get ManUtd engaged.
