Real Madrid attempts to win its first trophy of the 2002 – 2003 campaign, as the Champions League champs face the defending UEFA Cup champion Feyenoord of Rotterdam this afternoon in Monaco. Figo is expected to start, and is showing that he is progressing back into form after the ankle injury that bothered him at the end of the last club season and during the World Cup. Feyenoord, of course, feature former Benfica striker Pierre van Hoodjink. In other Real news, reports out of Monaco indicate that Madrid and Inter are once again negotiating the transfer of Ronaldo to the Spanish capital. The game will be televised live (2:30PM EST) on Fox Sports World. Probable starters, according to Abola: REAL MADRID – Cesar; Michel Salgado, Hierro, Helguera e Roberto Carlos; Cambiasso e Makelele; Figo, Raúl e Zidane; Morientes. FEYENOORD – Zoebetier; Emerton, Van Wenderem, Paauwe e Van Haaren; Kalou, Bosvelt, Ono e Van Persie; Lurling e Van Hooijdonk.
Real 3, Feyenoord 1 I went to watch the game yesterday afternoon. Let me tell you, I came away feeling much better about Figo. His acceleration is back; he was regularly beating one and two days down the right wing before sending crosses into the box. He was strong with the ball, using both feet. He could cut and and his passing was on point. He set up the third to Guti, who was standing alone by the far post, with a brilliant cross from the right corner of the box. It looks like he is regaining his old form. Take that all you &*^%%$ doubters out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes............finally the people could stop saying it was figo fault(the world cup) I just hope he doesnt get injured again................
