46th minute. Good Freedom defending. Grubb shut down Prinz and then Skylar came in to help. Prinz laid off a pass to someone but I think it was Carrie Moore that cleared that. Are you watching April Heinrichs!?!?!? It's halftime folks. I need to eat.

It was a CLUMSY play by Fotop, as I said earlier a definite own goal! She is NOT a defender, and has no business in the defensive box. I am not sure that Abby would have scored without Fotop being there as the keeper would have actually been looking for the shot.
On the Courage goal, Anne was marking Riise across the 18 when the pass was made to Fotop's head she stopped, Riise kept going. Riise scored.... Anne hasn't played d agressively last game either... Dang, Anson just stole my thunder..
Mak doesn't play D agressively much ever...she never has. Dang she is gifted offensively, though! Gabarra needs to recognize that Mak's just not going to turn into super-defender overnight and have someone else have primary responsibility for watching Riise in midfield. How about Jones? I understand FOF's point about Fwd's defending in the box. I believe that is one of Abby's "opportunites for improvement". However, it's ridiculous on set pieces to have Skylar try to mark Fotop. Champagne still on the ice, but I started looking at it after the first goal. Freedom, just win, baby. Just Win!!!

I think Abby's been looking pretty good defensively on corners all season, actually. Overall, I do, however, agree with the assessment that she has opportunities for improvement defesively.

"Some" forwards defend well others are OK and the many are almost worse than no one. Fotop is one of those. Abby is, for now, in the middle of the pack on defense. Forwards that defend well include, Parlow, Mia, Milly, and Katia.
52nd minute...Riise with a pass from the far corner of the 18...meant for Slaton but over her head. Damn I'm sucking ass. 53rd minute...Prinz fires a shot from the top of the 18...bounces off a Siri right to Fotop who is at the top of the six. 2-1 Courage up.
I disagree. It is incorrect. The ball did go off of Fotop, but it was not an own goal. It should have been scored as a goal by Grubb. Wambach didn't touch it.
Siri's biggest weakness just showed. She has small hands and seems to lack hand strength. But she has improved on this area. She gives up a rebound and Fotop scores. Now Fotop has two, one each way.

What was that SHOVE on Siri by Grubb for??? Grub made one of the worst defensive mistakes of the year for Washington and puts the ball on Prinz's foot and then Prinz scores and then we see Grubb shove Siri; WTF!!!!
60th minute...Burt on a long run down the middle...lays off a pass to Prinz...huge collision between her and Siri.
