    USA vs Cuba History

    7/19/03-USA 5:0 Cuba (GC)
    1/21/02-USA 1:0 Cuba (GC)
    2/1/98-USA 3:0 Cuba (GC)
9/21/49-USA 5:2 Cuba (WCQ, in Mexico)
9/14/49-USA 1:1 Cuba (WCQ, in Mexico)
    7/20/47-Cuba 5:2 USA

Cuba looking for goal against US

Cuba's best player is forward Lester More. I would imagine we'll see almost everybody get time in the first round games, since there's three games in a week. So I guess the big question is, will Conor Casey finally score a freakin' goal? :)

Kinda of a scary thought when you realize Cuba hasn't scored on us in nearly 56 years ;)

Seriously, I expect us to win this one hopefully fairly handily...

Following this game on MatchTracker is going to be awesome.

    [/sarcasm]

Hopefully Noonan starts at one of the two (three?) forward spots. I predict we'll win 3-0.
If Sasha Victorine can, anyone can.

I wonder if they can do Radioactive Green.

That way Onyewu can say on corners "Gooch Smash!"

Not as good as Grenada's Jason Roberts, and we shut him down. And he didn't score against us last time two years ago. They're probably not as bad as people think, but still, Cuba is probably the worst team in the tournament.

    $10 on honduras then.
I've actually really been curious about the cuban team since they sent the squad, a bunch of it at least, to the same german team, pretty sure it was a regionallia side. But was that a long time ago now? or was that 2002or -2003? No idea. anyway, a year of practising together full time in a professional environment couldn't hurt. Didn't seem to pan out, though I'd they do seem to have climbed from hopeless losers to mediocre.

Maybe this is a topic for another thread, or a thread of it's own. But, I've been wondering about the games that there are no English language television broadcasts of, or the games that are replayed on a delay. Why can't we at least get an audio webcast of the game? How many people go to Matchtracker? Surely, they see how many hits it is getting.

If the Charleston Battery can webcast all of their games, why can't the USMNT?

It looks like South Africa is a bit overrated in the listing since they're bringing what appears to be their C Team. I guess the people at Betandwin don't bother to read Big Soccer before they figure out their odds.

Well, I certainly hope so, and especially because I'm dragging my family up north to attend the Seattle matches!

On the other hand, I went to the US-Cuba GC match at the Rose Bowl a couple of years ago (2002), and despite their best efforts, the US only triumphed 1-0.

if i were a gambler, i'd be inclined to put $15 on the US and then $10 on Mexico for insurance. :) when/if the US win, i'm up ~$15. and, at least if Mexico wins, i break even.

what does everyone think are the odds that US or Mexico don't win this?

I think the game USA-CUBA...is not so hard like USA-Mexico..
maybe it will get less attention here at board...no idea...
but I think USA will beat CUBA...4:0...
    USA are really strong team....
there is no need to do extra strategy against CUBA..
you should concentrate on bigger teams, stronger team like
Mexico, Brazil...etc..you are no more newcomer in the soccer..
USA belongs definitely to these soccer countries with good soccer now...
You are in the business ...!!!
    Go and win!

Yep, that's why we got Sanneh, Armas, Conrad, Olsen.... You do mean "young" with respect to the rest of the population, not as soccer players, right?

Confusion, as always, on match start times and broadcast time.

Can anyone on west coast tell me what the 'broadcast' time is on 7 July?

    Thanks.

In keeping w. this biz, note that on the betandwin.com site they list the US/Cuba match as being on 8 July. Yikes.

Yeah, as we get closer to the tournament ,the less I care...

If USsoccer does not care enough to ensure their fans can watch, why should I care enough to follow on bloody Matchtracker??
