We're underway in the 2nd half. Cuba with a fk, cleared by Casey for CK.

CK is headed sharply on goal, but right at Marcus.

Glad they had to get in those Team Mexico interviews at half and the commercials just to come back for a free kick now a corner for Cuba. Good postion on that header by Cuba for the keeper.

    2nd half under way

    Cuba corner.

Good strong header, Marcus only has to stretch a little to bring it in.

Not good defense on a set piece,

I don't know, it was kind of a slow play and the linesman probably had a good angle.

Telefutura missed the start of the 2nd half - we join in the middle of Cuban free kick which goes out for a corner. Dangerous corner ends in hard headed shot that MH handles well.

    4th minute 1-1

47': Great hussle by olsen to win the ball. Davis takes it down the right flank and his cross hits a cuban right up the @$$. He goes down in pain.

No changes for either side. Cuban player clocked by Olsen, now getting treated on the sideline.

Davis with ball down left, hits cross right into his marker.

Davis, Olson, Armas, Casey, Sanneh least impressive so far.

I don't see any subs yet...

Sanneh was great at WC 2002. Doesn't anyone remember the Germany game? I will never forget it.

He deserves a chance at making the next WC roster. I would have prefered he had his chance in a friendly, but I don't believe he was available for recent friendlies.

Even if he single handedly costs us a game against Cuba, I still believe he deserves another look. If it turns out he can't perform anymore at this level than I doubt he will be on the field in '06.

This game suggests he has passed his prime, but this is just one game.

Nice play to keep the ball going forward, then a dive by a Cuban and he is acting hurt. Looks for a call, none given, then the attempted cross nails a Cuban in the head and he is down for the moment.
Should have given the yellow for the pathtic dive there.

Nice sequence shot hits the outside netting

If we come in 3rd, we need to be one of the best 2 (out of 3) third place finishes and we'll play in the final round against a 1st place team, not from our group.

Clint, side netting...no excuse should have scored from 10 yards.

Team looked real uninspired out there. Armas, Sanneh, Conrad, and Casey especially - they shouldn't be given any further consideration for legitimate opponents if they manage to look BAD against Cuba. I can forgive ineffective (Olsen, Davis, Frankie), but those 4 were just plain poor out there. Was Sanneh not able to head that cross out instead of sticking his right peg out? I loved you in 2002 man, but it's done. Pitiful...

I actually thought Quaranta looked like he belonged. The call-up may have a bit of merit to it afterall.

Nice flashes from Dempsey and Beasley, although after a nice trap or cut they're not seeing teammates in effective space to receive the ball. No surprise there. Beasley has a certain degree of composure on the ball he didn't have pre-PSV, which is encouraging. It's nice to see that Clint's knacks for finding dangerous space and putting the ball in the net have carried over to the national team. You don't score 6 goals in 12 games from midfield or lead the rookie class in scoring without a nose for scoring (big) goals.

Sanneh crosses to Beasley, his shot is blocked to Dempsey, whose shot is into the side netting from 6 yards.

Disney on the ground - gets up. Sanneh with another effective cross which results in a series of dangerous chance for the US -- shot by DMB is blocked and the Clint shot hits side netting.

Direct red card for Cuban player Jaime?.

I wonder if we can play as good as Cuba now that there's only 10 of them.
