FC Heidenheim 1846 (@FCH1846) July 6, 2020 Sargent starts for Werder Bremen in the biggest game of his young career. Leg 1 of the Bundesliga relegation playoff finished 0-0 in Bremen. The away goals rule is in effect, so a score draw in regulation would be enough to keep Bremen in the Bundesliga. If it's 0-0 after 90, extra time awaits. I don't know if the away goals rule is applied again after extra time - the Bundesliga English website isn't clear. Kickoff is at 2:30 PM Eastern on FS2.
Defender trying to steal ball from Sargent just inside box clears it right into his own upper corner. Unbelievable.
VAR for handball review (on Heidenheim) thankfully results in no PK, in the interest of fairness. Bremen feeling it, at least three good opportunities in 10 minutes of play. Aggressively going for a second.
Sargent not looking great in the first 12 minutes. He missed a sitter early on and since then has not had any impact in the match (aside from the turnover resulting in the OG).
Team looks much better, but Sargent hasn't looked that sharp in his hold up and layoff play. However, since he scared Heidenheim into the own goal, all failures are forgiven for now.
biggest takeaway so far the bottom quarter of the bundesliga was pretty bad this year and one of these two teams being in it next year isnt going to do anything to fix that
