"Brian McBride, making his first appearance of the pre-season after reporting back late due to international duty, impressed in attack and provided his colleagues with a number of intelligent knockdowns."

...but he'll end up on the bench all year long.

hen towards the end of the season will see some time and score/create many goals.

Patrick Thistle has my vote for the best town name in football. Didn't they make a sc run a couple years ago, beating either celt or rangers before losing to the other in the final?
Boca and McB will both get more time than they did in this one. They're just back. Give them time to work back in.

I don't know, I kind of fancy Scunthorpe United.

As for McB riding the bench all year, I tend to think that A. Cole will fail to impress and McB may find himself starting by November. If he and Radz can recreate the chemistry they had at Everton, I think we'll see the two of them as Fulham's first option with John the first off the bench.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.

I think McB will start. He always does the job asked if he has a supporting cast. Coleman will see that. Fulham finished last season with McB surrounded by a supporting cast much better than that around him just after he arrived and McB came through with several nice goals.

I think the bulk of McBride's time will be as a regular second half sub.

What about Bocanegra riding the bench all year?

That's a good point. It'll be intersting to see where Carlos fits into Cookie's plans with a fully healthy back line.

I remember someone running a great headline play on supercalifragilistic involving Calle thistle beating the hoops. I'll try and find it -

I agree that Cole and Radzinski will start the season with McBride as the first off the bench. However, one of them is bound to slump (likely Cole) or get hurt. McBride should get plenty of time. Plus, McBride is a player that doesn't have to score to be effective. You can't say that about Cole.
