Guess its time to stop basking in the glow of the 5-1 thrashing of the Uniteds and start talking about this one. Coming off what might be considered the most boring game in MLS history, the Crew are primed for a Dallas butt whipping. We need to continue the good form and extend this winning streak. Last game before the all star break, the boys need to leave it all on the pitch in Columbus. Lets take the three points that are rightfully ours and put a nice buffer between us and Colorado.

    Goals from EJ and ROB.

    Oh and Cassar shines.

Dallas should have beat Columbus at home a couple weeks ago. The Burn need to redeem themselves. I saw the C-Bus/Crapids match, and C-Bus had many opportunities to score and could not finish. If they figure out how to finish, the Burn are in trouble. I'm concerned if Jolley is out, and JK may be out too.

You are right, Cbus was the better team out there, but at this point just about anyone is better the Colorado.....they are just going down, fast. However, in two scoreless draws against Columbus this season, the Burn should have won both. Remember that first game at Crew Stadium....the handball on EJ's header? Its time to take those three points back.

we'll need Cassar more in this game than the last two (col/dc), but i feel the Burn are ready to kill off a team from the get-go. from early in the match i expect the effort of the last two games to shine through and make this game theirs. with that said, i predict a 2-0 Crew win, with Brian McBride scoring the brace. from England.

but Andrulis still loses his job.

Cassar shining is a little redundant. Im sure he will be great as always (seeing this game isnt in KC). Hopefully the newly reved up offense keeps clicking. Davis on the scoresheet again?

davis, pareja/nunez, johnson, ROB (if he can figure out how to shoot LOW) could all easily be on the scoresheet. if saturday was any indication it's obvious that we CAN get goals from most positions, we just need to see them do it. consistently would help, too.

Seriously ROB should have, like, 15 goals by now. And he was all pissed off because EJ didn't see him wide open on the right......Why?? You just would have skied it over the bar, Ronnie! I love you, man, but you gotta put those on frame, mate.

he's just trying too hard when he shoots. every other part of his game is top notch so far this season. it's so good to have him back, but it'd be better if he'd just chill out when he shoots.

I talked to him about it a couple weeks ago. He feels that his shooting touch is the one thing that he has had the most trouble getting back after his broken leg. He is really frustrated by it.

He's probably forcing it. I am sure it will come with time.

Buzz, any idea of the line-up for this game? I'm assuming the below but who knows.

    Johnson......Rhine

    Davis....Simo....Oscar...ROB

    Gbandi....Gibbs.....Goodson.....Talley

    Cassar

Bench: Salyer, Reyes, Kreis, Nunez, Garlick

I assume Toni, Jolley, Behncke and Quell are injured and unavailable.

After 180 minutes of scoreless soccer between these two, I just want to see some balls hit the back of the net. No excuses about ref calls, hand balls, iffy fouls, just play hard and make your own luck.

Due to travel schedule, both mine and the Burn's, I didn't see training.
I am trying to get travel squad info as the travel group will be bigger I am thinking and it will tell us a great deal.

I don't think Rhine is ready for 90 minutes. Kreis is probable... So I would expect Johnson and Kreis up top. Rhine and Nhleko both travel.

Your midfield has to be right... as long as Oscar feels good. It's really pushing it to ask him to go 90 again. Maybe just maybe Talley in the middle with Simo, if Oscar is feeling poor.

Back line my thoughts are Behncke is out and Gbandi back in. Gibbs yes, Talley yes, unless he is in midfield. Jolley will travel and try to go, if he can't it's Goodson. Behncke would have been tested Monday... and if cleared he travels... but I bet he is out.

    So..
    Johnson Kreis
    Davis Pareja Valakari O'Brien
    Gbandi Gibbs Goodson Talley
    Cassar

Bench: Garlick, Rhine, Nhleko, Salyer, Nunez
    Traveling but not playing: Jolley

Why is the travel squad bigger for this game, Buzz?

My guess is that it will be bigger... when you have a couple players with minor injuries, sometimes you take them along with their replacement and make a game day decision on which one will play or make the bench based on health.

It is my guess that with Kreis, Nhleko, Quill, Behncke, Jolley, Pareja all in various stages of injury... or none injury... that the travel squad might be bigger.

In the end only 5 subs will be on the bench no matter how many go.

It's only a slight difference. As you can see from my conviluted explanation...
the subs and starters come out of the travel squad. Usually it's the same, but as mentioned someteimes it's bigger.

So if Oscar is feeling poor, and Talley starts in midfield (& Jolley is out), is CC bringing another defender? With Talley in the MF, there are no defenders on the bench. Behncke? Reyes? or even go with that and risk an altered formation if an injury?

Behncke is the most versitle so he usually goes, but if he is out....
then it would have to be Reyes or Goodson...

unless Jolley is out then it has to be Reyes.

But i have no reason to think Oscar is not all right. He went 90 and looked good. I for one like what he brings and hope it's him with Nunez in late.
