Well, considering the game is tommorrow, I figured someone had to start this. I don't have the time or energy to do anything like Charter for LA so deal with it.:p

We'll be looking to secure the first place spot we've deserved for the last 4 weeks. 4th game in 10 days for us, but also for the Metros. I can see us being a little spent after the emotionally charged game on Saturday. The lack of crowd that I'm expecting could also allow the team to give a less than energetic effort. Hopefully, no one has taken their eye off the prize, and remember the subpar effort put in against this team in NY. More possession problems await us this week, and we'll need to give maximum effort.

MLS hasn't updated the discipline sheets yet, but I imagine we have some people either missing this game, or in danger of missing the next with a yellow in this one. Zotinca likely won't start though with Garcia and Thomas coming back.

I'm pretty sure Zotinca and Guiterrez will both be gone. Zotinca just for sheer points accumulated. Unfortunately for Diego the LA game was to have been his third and final "good behavior" game that would've allowed his caution points to drop and fall out of caution/suspension purgatory zone.

Metro's are week on D with one good center back and one above average keeper. No Mercy!!!! Slam it home who's tops in the league before the allstar break and give KC the street cred in the press they deserve. People are all big on E Gaven, he plays big for his age, he just isn't a big player yet. I think Guevarra is the one to shut down first, then make sure we don't have a late lapse for some game winner type player like Wolyniec to do what he does best; get a goal after doing nothing for 85 minutes.

I wonder if Mo will tell the guys in front of me to Shut the Fvck up again. Bradley doesn't get near as worked up as Sigi does with the fans. Thats Mo's job.

    Wizards 3 Metro's 0
    Wolff
    Arnaud
    Conrad

It's actually hard for me to hate the Metro's. I actually like Bob Bradley and with Richie Williams & Mathis not around anymore. I guess you have to pick Guevarra as the only pr!ck on the team. Walker, Pope, Gaven, Wolyniec,Magee etc... all just come to play and "Get 'er dun". Adversly looking at LA it's hard to name players on that team that aren't pr!cks.

He might be above average overall, but lately, Walker has been having some pretty poor performances. I say we could get some easy goals past this defense.

After Thompson passes the BAR, for Thompson at least, it should be "Drink 'til Wolyniec is cute" night at the 'Head.

Wow, now that is a LOT of drinking!

As for the game, this team scares me. Their record doesn't scare, the players they can put on the field do. Guevara, Gaven, Glen, Taylor, McGee all can strike at any time. Pope and Walker are the only real talent they have in the back.

I don't remember last week, and don't have time to go find out, but I sure hope we aren't missing players. If so we're going to have to start having punishments for getting yellow cards, because we can't keep missing players for caution points.

I say the Wizards win, but it'll be a nervous game. We'll get a lead, take the air out of the ball, NY fans will accuse us of "bunkering" and we'll respond with "Oh yeah, well we're in first place. So there!" :)

It sure would be nice to have some depth up there for tommorrow. Taylor's going to have to go 90 along with Arnaud. Taylor should at least be rested.

Definitly what we do not need from Wolff, although he has been pretty good this season about not missing games, of course, I bet that star article about him on Saturday jinxed him. Anyways hopefully we can figure something out on how to work the team, do we have both Taylor and Arnaud up top for all 90? or do we eventually switct to a 4-5-1 when/if Taylor tires out and needs to be subbed out. We don't need any Glass Wolff this season.

If we had Zotinca or Gutierrez than we could, but if both those guys are gone, we're going to be thin all over. Can anyone say Diego Walsh?

No but I just thought of someone else we could pull out, Justin Detter, if we wanted to stay in the 4-4-2

Yeah, I haven't seen Detter a ton, but I like his chances against the Metros defense better than a Klein-Walsh-Gomez-Jewsbury-Zavagnin against anybody. The 4-5-1 would probably be the better formation if we had the personnel to back it up considering the width the Metros are capable of, but Guevara will have a field day through the middle if Gomez and Walsh in tandem are important to our possession. Who knows we could see them out there anyway if Gansler doesn't want to start Jacky. I personally would start my best personnel and I think Gansler for the most part does that.

I personally would pass out at the moderately unattractive stage. Don't know exactly how much Thompson can handle.

Don't start Wolff regardless of how his knee feels. Stay with the 4-4-2 and start Taylor. If you need/want a goal in the second half, then you can put Wolff on depending on the state of his knee. Have someone replace him for the All-Star Game (who really cares at this point about the ASG), and he'll have a nice break to be properly diagnosed or just to have a break. No biggie. I'm more concerned about the defense against the Mutts than the forwards. Besides, this sounds like it could be something that could get serious only if left untreated and he were to just play on it.

  14. I see Jewsberry and Detter playing big minutes tomorrow. Gansler probably wishes he'd gone to Jack earlier since Gomez was giving us his normal game. It looked as if Detter was getting ready to sub in late. I think Gansler feels strongly about him based upon his recent comments. Look for Taylor and Detter to split time with Davey going the full 90. Both those rookies will give us some intensity lacking lately with Josh.
    2-0 KC (Davey & Klein)

Mlsnet says Guti OUT. Zoltinca in YELLOW PERIL. Sounds like something from the cold war.

I'm assuming that means Alex can go so....

    ---------Tony
    Zoltinca-Thomas-Conrad-Garcia
    ---------Zags
    -Klein --------------Jose Jr.
    --------Gomez
    ------Davy--Taylor

If, Alex is out...Garcia moves to the right, Jose drops back and Jacky fills the left mid.

Let Taylor go as long as possible and keep Wolff out, unless he's 100%. Otherwise, give Detter some time.

Walsh for Gomez, if behind...if ahead, bring in Jewsberry, if he's not already on the field.

I'd rather Jewsbury start over gomez, but other than that the lineup looks pretty good depending on Wolff's knee.

I agree. I alter the formation slightly

    Zotinca Conrad Thomas Garcia
    Jackson KZ Burciaga
    Klein
    Arnaud Taylor

Yeah, its a bit narrow, but neither team really has any classic wide men. You need to shut down the middle against the Metros and this is the best way to do it, in my opinion.

I would also like to state my favor for Action Jackson starting over Gomez, I mean, sure with him, KZ, and Burciaga on the field, we are a little defensive, but all three have looked dangerous at time going forward.

just to be fun I actually make a prediction this week
    1-0 KC

*Metros look pretty thin with three starters essentially out to injury (Ziadie, Clark, Lisi) and I want to say "Son of Bradley" had been getting some minutes lately as well.

*Finally we get an experienced ref that has more than 5 MLS games under his belt. Guy that did the LA game it was his 6th. Looks like he might have a knack for calling PK's (39%) of his games.

Weather looks good for this game 77 and Pt Cloudy.

Could someone explain the CPs to me? I know they are caution points, but how many do you have to get before you are suspended like Guti? And how do you get them? Only from yellow cards?

    Thanks.

Lisi has been out for a while. Clark will be the biggest loss to the Metros starting 11. Ziadie is so inconsistant that him being out is probably a blessing in disguise. Lil Bradley hasn't played a minute this season. He broke his leg before it started.
