I kind of get the sense that contradictory side of those comments was intentional. Like of a Dale Carnegie-esque "never disagree with anyone directly" move. He basically said "This is a great market-- too bad you don't have any of the criteria necessary for MLS". Kinda like Beckham's response to the question of whether he'd play in MLS.
