All good man, happy we came to an understanding. Maybe we should see how 48 teams goes first though haha.

I do not think it needs to expand. AFC and CAF expanding their confederational tournaments from 16 to 24 makes more tournaments for teams that are not good enough for the World Cup. The Women's World Cup and tournaments in other sports have blowouts because the gap between teams is bigger, and I think the Group Stage will have enough easy wins for top teams that fans will not wish that there were more teams.

Does it really need to expand? Possibly not. Or at least not as fast as I want it to expand.

Will it expand? You bet your bottom dollar it will expand eventually.
FIFA likes money. More games and more potential markets being involved means more money.

Yeah, I'd watch more women's team sports if there wasn't such a lack of parity.

Apparently, so would many others as the 2011 women's WC had a higher average attendance than 2019, despite both being hosted in the heart of western Europe (Germany and France).

To me that's telling because the women's game evolved significantly in Europe. But people still don't want to see Thailand lose 13-0.
