Nick Sakiewicz is really a robot. He uses hexadecimal numbers so when he says 60, he means 96 days.

I'm kinda getting sick of being jerked around here. Maybe it is time to start our own letter writing campaign to Don Garber, with a CC to Nick S. and St. Phil stating our vote of no confidence in Nick's ability to deliver on his promises. I would think that as investors and consumers of MLS we would have a bit of clout in this matter. We don't have to just sit back and watch another year of nothing happen, we can be proactive.

About the only two things that Nick has done wrong in this so far are:

-- He's repeated that dreaded "30 to 60 to 90 days" mantra, which was the kiss of death for Charlie and unrealistically raises expectations. This was, is, and remains a stupid thing to do.

-- He didn't have the Deloitte financial feasibility study in hand when he got the chance to present it to the state legislature. This was very stupid and made everyone, including the Dems who supported this, very suspicious.

Otherwise, there's not much that he could have done differently, I think -- Uncle Phil has made it clear that is not going to spend 100% of his own money to build it, so Nick has had to beg for money from a state government that's about to declare bankruptcy and a county government that traditionally among the most corrupt in the country (no offense to our current fine legislators from Harrison and Hudson, who I'm sure are more on the level than any in history). I thought that Sen. Kenny was going to get this through last spring, but I (along with Nick & MLS) over-estimated his power in the Senate, and then Phil got broadsided in the Ledger with that insane Qwest shareholder lawsuit article. I can't fault Nick for those things.

If you think it's easy to get this done, look at YN -- they've got investors with more money than God, an arena that will actually get used 200 dates a year (vs. 40-50 for our dinky little stadium), two major pro teams and a college b-ball team already pledged to play there, and a city with a couple hundred million dollars in the bank that is dying to give to them.

And when he says the attendance is 10,000 somehow it comes out 22,312.
