    Excerpt

Unlike other speakers who had only praise for the new complex and for Phil Anschutz, the man whose $150 million financed it, Warner chose the moment to ask that it be made available not only to American athletes but to everyone in the North and Central American and Caribbean (CONCACAF) region.
"To me, this dream of yours will only be a dream for America if you don't find the way to make this facility affordable for other users in CONCACAF and the FIFA family," he said. "There is no sense in you being at this level and the others at that level. Because what happens is that the others try to bring you down to their level. What you have to do is bring them up to yours."

This guy is incredible. To think his family and friends make tons of money off tv rights and he still manages to keep most CONCACAF nations in deep sh... Not only that, he does not care to make CONCACAF tounaments more high profile or marketable, which one would figure not onle benefits the region but his own pockets as well...
Maybe when we get a real FIFA official to manage our region, the US might think of working together with less fortunate nations (at a discount price to boot)

    This deserves special attention:
What an ass. A non-sensical ass, at that.

i cannot believe that he made those comments. he was blatter's freaking representative and he acted like that??? you'd think fifa would not be too happy about what he said and would give the ussf an apology or at least reassurances that this is not their policy or party line.

It's not hard to look good next to Warner. It's kind of like the final thoughts on Jerry Springer. How could you not sound insightful after those freaks?

I agree. Who keeps voting this guy to be in charge?

We all agree that FIFA looks to be run by often greedy dolts The USSF often looks run by people who have no idea what they are doing. But this guy is by far the worst of the bunch.

How can this region rid itself of him? He's from Trinidad and Toboago. Why isn't someone from Mexico or the US running the region?

I don't think England, France or Germany is going to have some guy from Andorra running the UEFA show. Why do we put up with his crap?

    Not that easy

Warner has the support of all the little Caribbean nations, which in terms of numbers alone will never fail to reelect him...Despite the fans that these confederation struggle mightily, I am certain their leaders get good kickbacks, which is why they'll keep supporting the bastard and stifling any opposition....Even if US, Mexico and Canada stood together, that would only get an opponent three frigging votes, which is nothing compared to what Blatter and Warner get every time election time comes and they get the support from the Caribbean representatives

There is absolutely no doubt that Warner should get the axe. None at all. I've followed this guy's antics for a while, and so much of what he's done is out and out disgusting. He shouldn't just not get re-elected, he belongs in jail.

I've long thought that with the power the US has, we should simply pull a Miami and threaten to leave the conference if something isn't done about this a-hole. Problem is, there is another US a-hole, Chuck Blazer, who is equally bad and just as much, if not more powerful in CONCACAF, than is Warner.

In this case, Mexico and the US could open a lot of eyes if they started working together and exposed these jokers for what they are. But who is going to do that? Dr. Bob? If you think that's gonna happen, please get out of the cave and enjoy some fresh air.

Unfortunately, the best and easiest answer has already been hinted at in this thread.

We could just tell President Bush that Warner is a tinpot dictator from a third-world country, and that we're pretty sure he has WMDs.
