The MLS is respected by more people and countries than you think. Even on my business travels to Argentina and Brazil I am amazed at how well it is percieved. Yes, they know the talent is not the same class as their leagues, but they also respect what the US player is, and what he does, and what the league is doing. The "scoff" attitude comes from the "usual suspects"...the Western Euro Elite who accept nothing but what they do as being important or quality. As time has gone on I realize that it is "Fear & Loathing In World Soccer" more than anything. These powers despise the fact that "those Yanks" can produce quality players with little effort in their eyes. Our sport isn't grand in this country, we don't have the history or tradition, and yet here we are. Slowly forcing our way in. This parallels the history of the US and western Europe. Constantly trying to trivialize and minimize the US until we break the door down and give them no choice, but to accept us. It's great to see, and we are getting close. WooHoo!
