should be a good match. watched teh Chicago match Sunday night and the Fire started their, um, starters. The also have a match Saturday and have had mixed results this season and Im sure they are looking to do well. That said I dont think they will be a push over on Tuesday and from the little press and reports I have seen about the USOC match, they seem to take it pretty serious. Not sure if they think they can get the job done with their rookies and bench players. havent seen who is injured but I know Armstrong seemed to pull up at the last match, OB was still in civies and I would imagine Jackson is still questionable. I think the line up we started with against Carolina with Gruenewald starting if Armstrong isnt playing, would work well. Up the Battery

0-0 at the half. from the match tracker and the twitter, the batteyr pressed early and had a few shots on goal. Chicago seemed to have the run of play toward the end of the first half. hearing that 950am is up with Andrew calling the match if you are in teh 5mile radius of reception
We have a 0-0 game here with the time winding down. If we go 90 w/o a goal there will be two 15 minute extra time halfs and then PKs, just like the World Cup.
Gruenewald comes on for Bermudez. Three in the Back? or does Zaher slip back to the backline and switch with Gruenewald McBride come on for Chicago at the break.
Mcbride miss first PK, Battery score Melia saves Chicago's second attempt Zaher scores Chicago hits the cross bar Fuller puts it away!!!! 3-0 battery win!!!!
Excellent. And to the douchebag Fire fan who thought he was all tough for the first 75' or so but went quiet at the end: Guess the only warmth you're feeling now is us ripping off your head and shitting down your windpipe. Screw you little boy....
That reply cracked me up the first time lol...to think I had actually nice things to say...at first... Can't stand it when my team gets slammed for no reason. But we'll just chalk up another mls team on our board of ones we've beaten in the cup. Wonder if we can become the first team to beat every mls team in the cup lol of so who do we have left lol
fire coach downplaying the loss www.suntimes.com/sports/soccer/fire/2448...T-SPT-fire30.article The Fire returns to league play Saturday at Columbus, and de los Cobos downplayed the loss to the Battery. ''I want to concentrate on our league and the SuperLiga [tournament next month],'' he said. ''They are most important. For this match, I wanted the opportunity to see other players.'' MLS teams always seem to have excuses. You know what? we take our league play seriously too. seriously though, dont enter if you dont care. You could have loss in the play-in matches MLS had There fans are pissed at the their front office for playing up the Fire's USOC tradition and making a record tieing 5th win and then the coach comes out and torpedos what the PR guys is trying to sell. At least they aren't saying about how the cup doesnt matter, etc. they wanted to win it. oh that and missing three PKs.
