That's a hardworking/countering lineup if I've ever seen one... should be relying on CP to do a lot of running to get on the ends of passes in behind City, I'd imagine.

Who's going to send in those passes?

Well they aren't going to need to be perfect visionary passes tearing a hole through a packed defense... I'd imagine they will be passes into space in behind City defenders for CP to run onto.

I can see a sequence in which Alonso-Barkley-Mount-CP combine in a counterattack to create something. Don't need Xavi or Pirlo in there to make such a move possible... the question really is how well will Chelsea be able to defend for long periods. Not gonna be easy.

I just don't see a whole lot quality passes coming from the midfield trio of Mount, Kante, and Barkley.

I would have a bit more confidence with Kovacic, Jorgi, or Gimour in there.

Kova maybe? Jorginho & Gilmour, I wouldn't have expected to see them against City.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gilmour in the 2nd half.

Sterling up top, Gundogan and KDB as the 10s.

That midfield can be countered on.

Hmm. I will be surprised if Chelsea don't lose by 3 goals. That is one very attacking and mistake prone lineup from Chelsea. Lumpy reckons he can get at the ManPeps backline.

Oh it's actually Bernardo up top, or kind of false 9 perhaps.

CP with a nice dribble but Barkley not on same page, ball was kind of to no one but Barkley could have been there.

Gonna be on CP to create something tonight I think.

Barkley and Rodri answers the question: which two players don't belong at this level?

CP makes a nice run and leaves it for Barkley who is still apparently kneeling.

Chelsea very compact in defense. Everyone behind the ball. 4-1-2-2-1. But on the transition they go wide with Alonso on the touchline.

First 10min has to go to Chelsea. Tempo of the match is slow and ManPep's have no feel for the match yet.

    Nice counter creates a chance.
Mount skies the impossible volley from outside the box.

mount gets the announcers get out of jail free card after attempting a stupidly hard volley and badly missing it

Mount really does have a lot of potential, but his production per shot is so very low.

Very nice stadium sound effects work... the sound guy immediately ready with the light applause button in appreciation of Kepa's solid save.

CP with the bad pass, off target in the direction of Giroud... had a CM open inside of him.
