Are we just thinking Richards must be 90% there and can go 90? Hope he’s been honest with everyone. We need him. Except for my boy Weah on the bench, this is the most solid way to go. Let’s go!!!
Same XI as the Germany match, except Richards in place of Miles. I think most of us figured that was likely. Against Germany, it mostly played as a 4231, as I figure it will, but it could be drawn up as a 3421 (and play as such) if they so choose.
If he can't go 90, I think it would be a mistake to start him, honestly. I must trust that Poch made the right decision.
I just spend a lot of money on a home theatre. I made sure it was installed no later than yesterday to watch as many games as possible including yesterday’s opener but tonight’s game I have people coming to watch and….the power goes out.
Ouch. Didn't even think about that, but I should prepare. It was 97 today in the valley (Reno/Washoe), and lightning storms and heat related power outages happen every summer, definitely need to pack a go bag for the casino lol.
Man, be prepared for John Strong to cater to the lowest fan denominator because this game is going to draw ratings. Lots of soccer newbies will be watching.
Yep, Watching that opener against Portugal, then getting ready and going to sub/teach a PE class in Oakland. That was nuts. I do recall staying up to watch pretty much everything. Even remember the saving grace of the Germany loss was going out to see The Bourne Identity to get our minds off of it later that morning.
Impressive crowd already 40 mins before KO. I guess when you spend that much money you don't wanna chance being late.
Hopefully we'll at least one-up it this time around. We've got some players who are ready to shine. We just need to solve the momentary switch-offs in the back. This is the analysis forum, but just before this biggest game we've had in many years, I'm not in a mood to put the analytical hat on and consider the consequences if we switch off in the back.
I haven't said this publicly but I think our warm-up kit design is perhaps the worst design I've ever seen. Looks like it's done by someone in grammar school.
Probably Gio if we're behind, Aaronson if we're ahead. Weah probably comes on for Dest 70ish regardless of the score
I really don't mind it. I would love to draw more fans to the game, so if he has to break down simple rules we all know, well, there is a mute button or Telemundo.
Yes, I knew in my heart that we would bring big-pro American crowds for this World Cup. There are lots of detractors, and lots of people outside of soccer circles who don't know what the phrase "parking the bus" means and have never heard of Bournemouth FC, but there are tens of millions of us now who have and do, and care about this for a lot more than just another big sporting event with the US flag. And that wasn't really true in 2002, much less 1994.
