I'm not too good at html links in this format, but yesterday the Minneapolis Star Tribune had a very nice preview about the Thunder's new season as well as an article about "down the road" expansion by MLS here. Today they had a nice preview of the home opener that is being played late this afternoon at the Metrodome. Good to see substantial coverage for what amounts to a minor league team in a city full of major league franchises.

    Jim:

How could we start our soccer-day without your personal contribution?

And what will happen if --God forbids-- you are crushed on the highway or crashed on the tarmak?

    Have a great day.

All soccer adicts in South Texas salute you...

  4. Give credit to the Houston Chronicle. Fantastic coverage, theyre really hyping this up to somethig of a WC Qualifyer variety.

Can't see anywhere near the same success if USA gets the WWC this year. Not a whole lot of time to sell it to the public. I remember, as a Fire ticket holder in 1998, I got many brochures for ordering tickets well over a year ahead of time.

Maybe if the US women go far, they might get larger crowds towards the end of the event, but still, in September with such little time to prepare, it could end up bad.
