I swear on my father's grave that I had a thread on the rumor of this happening somewhere in here but I don't see it anywhere. Oh well. Here's my thread in the Freedom forum: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?postid=835619#post835619 -------------------- Well it's official... Freedom v Power on May 31st in Rochester, NY at Monroe Community College. Monroe Community College!?!? Whatever happened to playing a DH at Frontier Field with the Rochester Rhinos? Abby, Freeedom Coming to Town by Mike Hedeen
Soccer-baseball DH??? Not quite. WUSA exhibition now at Frontier Organizers jumped at the chance to move the game from Monroe CC
Hmmmmmm... I'd like to, but I think it's a 4 hour drive for me. Do I want to do that alone?? I know that's nothing for YOU, but... Maybe I will. What the heck?? I'll let you know. N~
This game is still on right? I find it strange that the NY Power site hasn't mentioned it. Norma are you going for sure??? if so we can make plans to meet up. I have a new cell # too and need your again. PM me if you plan on going. I WILL be there without a doubt!
OK the game is still on. Tickets at the gate are $18 plus a fee (most likely $2) and advance tickets are $15 plus a $2 fee. Seats are general admission. I just bought my ticket. http://www.rochestersoccer.com/advancetickets.htm
What is the purpose of playing an exhibition game in-season? It seems like a good way for someone to get hurt in a meaningless game.
1. It makes money for a cash-strapped league 2. More importantly -- Rochester is a likely location for an expansion or a relocated (NY) team. The Rhinos are building their own stadium. It would be nice to fill it for another 10-11 dates per year, yes? So the New York Power could become the Rochester Rhinocerousesses. :L
http://www.nypower.com/365674.html I was at the game today... It rained the whole game. My dumb ass was in shorts and freezing by the end of the game... plus I wasn't feeling well and still had a 4+ hour drive back home in the rain... so I jetted as soon as the ame was over. Unfortunately I was over by the Freedom side so no pics plus it was too rainy and the seating wasn't the greatest for pics soooo I didn't bother taking any. I was on the first base side, by the corner flag. The Power came in on the third base side... damnit! I also wrote more about who played in the Freedom Forum, so if ya want more info....go there!
oh another thing! Attendence was 7,764 and it rained ALL game... time to move NY outta Long Island... I think the Power should play in a few areas of the state to see how attendence is in other areas for a possible move... Albany would be nice... and closer for me!!!!
