Tougher opponent in St Louis, as opposed to Sioux Falls. As stated in the other thread the guys are going to have to have their heads in this one from start to finish. Playing the second night in a row doesn't help. As long as we play like we did against Sioux Falls, except for the late game sloppiness, and can put the ball away we should be fine. I'm going to be at the west church lot, as usual, at about 6pm. If anyone wants to join me that early feel free. Also, consider joining us up in the stands. We are getting the crowd to make more noise that usual, at the very least they are clapping with us. Extra voices always help and it's always more fun to sing in greater numbers. Oh and.. WEAR RED

Storms held off, unfortunately we didn't pull off a victory. Played catch up yet again but lost 3-1. We had plenty of chances but again just aren't finishing like we should and we aren't playing well all game. Credit goes to St Louis, their keeper is probably the best we've seen on an opposing team. Cory Pasek had our lone goal. First St Louis goal was just our defense not shutting down as they worked it through the top of the box. Second goal may have been stopped. It was a 2 on 1 and he came off his line when Brennan should have stayed back. After he came way off his line they passed and were able to put the ball into an open net. Last St Louis goal came on the counter as we were pushing everyone forward trying to catch up. Best stuff, once again, came from Conrad and Sithonorath. We played three up front which I didn't like. I really think we need an extra body more in the midfield to try and keep control of things, which we didn't do well tonight. First half we had 8 shots to their 3, not sure what the second half was but I am sure more of the same. On the positive, better corners came tonight. I also liked the second half free kick outside the box that instead was a pass into space, followed by a low ball into the box that gave us one of our good opportunities. With our narrow field crosses are more difficult, balls too often go way over the box to the far side.
I made an appearance at the menace game and was shocked and disappointed for a few reasons. first off, there was not a very big crowd at all. second, where was this "red army" snake eyes? i hope the "army" wasnt in full force tonight, becasue i didnt see anybody in red there tonight. if you call that the red army, then i am glad you arent going to war for me. snake eyes, gimme some kind of response here man. also, who do you think is better in goal...this brennan guy or the back up?
I tell you what. With the wisdom coming from SnakeEyes' mouth, he should be coaching the Menace. Sounds like he has the same pedigree as Sir Alex. It was clear the Menace were playing with 3 up top considering they have played a 4-4-2 the last three games. What a great call on the second conceded goal being a "2v1 and the keeper should have stayed on his line." Snakeyes must have been watching intently considering Brennan made a save on the goal line on the initial header from the cross and then the rebound was smashed home. That Red Army is coming full force. Hopefully you can bring that "Army" to some other local games so you can psych out some opposing teams. Scary, intimidating. Keep your head up Snakeyes, you've got a lot going for you.
:/ One-posters in full force. First off, glad you made a "appearance" at the game, you totally overshadowed MJ! It's PDL ball, what do you expect? Good crowd for PDL ball. I imagine the tornado watch and predicted heavy rains kept some away, but who cares, save that crap for the MLS threads. As for us, you expect even a Timber Army? Again, it's PDL... It's a few of us having fun, hoping others will too... but hopefully a work in progress. At least some of us are, rather than sitting back and criticizing. *shrug* Lighten up a little. As for the goals, yeah I mixed things up. But having watched the match you knew what I was talking about. As far as the keepers go, based on what I have seen at home of each guy I think both are quality keepers. Zack has had good saves, he did last night as well, including yes, the header off the corner. However, I have not seen something to be critical of Jake about yet. That's been my only complaint of Zack to date. I criticized Kramer for that as well. I don't see practice, I am not Marc, so I can't say anything other than what I have seen at matches. As far as 3 up front, blame the beer and not what I meant really. I didn't mean that we were in a 3-3-4 or whatever. I meant it didn't seem we were in a straight 4-4-2 all match.
