5/26/03: Nike

    He says he wants to only go to DCU in MLS, but what would Nike think of thier young star playing head to toe in Adidas? That might be a problem for Adu.

    If the games are going to be at MLS "sites" does this mean double headers? If so that could be the attendance push we could use at the end of the season? Plus like most people say any coverage for soccer is good for the sport in this country.

    same article as the alameda times-star... they carry the same stuff and have the same sports editor... i'd recommend that all area people write into them for more coverage... hell, i recommend *everyone* writes into their local paper for more soccer coverage

    i wonder if the finish to the SPL might have some of these Eurosnobs rethinking their no playoffs theory. Can't you even just have a one game playoff? That's crazy that they decide a league title on goal differential.

    well, head to ankle, anyway. but that is a very interesting point. MLS' wildest manipulations are yet to come...

    The shoes are a very significant exception. I think Nike might not mind all that much. His NT gear is Nike.

    Multiyear agreement. Let's say five years. For two years Nike deals with the Adidas thing then finds a nice big club in Europe with Nike as sponsor.
