As long as it took or is taking everybody else to get their new stadia from hope to plan to approval to shovel to opening day, how on Earth is Cleveland, of all places, all of a sudden going to make the first four steps happen by the end of the year?

Here's the problem: Hoping you get a big crowd. That's what too many teams in the A-League do. Hoping isn't exactly the best ticket-sales strategy (and, just as a nitpick, that isn't really a first-round US Open Cup match, it's a qualifier).

    from NYT re: Howard

this would be interesting if it happend that quickly. the end of the report has howard leaving in JULY, before the end of the MLS season... does that make sense?

freddy at the U-20 world cup this fall? this is the first i've heard of it. doesn't sound terribly realistic. of coooourse, he's good enough, yadda yadda, but it doesn't seem to fit with the bring him along slowly approach. not too slowly, of course.

sorry for asking a freddy question, feel free to let die.

From the day-late Cleveland Plain Dealer article:

Other than the finger discomfort, life is exceptionally good for Friedel, a 1989 graduate of Bay High. He recently became the first American to be named to the Premier League Team of the Year.

Most importantly, he said, is fatherhood awaits in October.

"That far outweighs anything in my soccer career," he said.

If the Bradlet is born in Blackburn, will Sven cap him immediately?
