Any thoughts on the debate of whether we should play a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2 because yesterday we played with a 4-4-2 in our final tuneup. I would think that we might end up playing a box in midfield due to our lack of flank players unless you play guys like Digi and Ziadie who are probably more suited as wingbacks in the midfield. I think the midfield could very well end up being Mathis, Guevera (if ever signed), Williams and Clark.
How about 4-3-3. Mathis at center forward between Moreno and Magee. DiGiamarino Williams and Clark are all good defensively. It does not seem like Guevara will be here.
Final tuneup, but without Guevara... I think Bob is looking at a 4-4-2 mainly because we don't have the personnel to play a 3-5-2 with true outside mids right now. But I think we're headed towards a 3-5-2 if we can ever get a true right-sided mid.
Though it was a 442 yesterday, they played as if it were a 352. When Zadie would venture forward, DiGi would stay at home, and when Digi went forward... You get the picture. Of course it was easy from them to do that yesterday since Rochester had a difficult time putting any pressure on the Metros goal except for 10 minutes in the 2nd half. Columbus played excellent ball on Saturday, so it'll be interesting to see how the 442 looks against them. Columbus may not allow the outside backs to get forward into the pseudo 352.
are you dense, we basically signed him already, and he might even play opening day, look at the: Update on Guevara... anyone... anyone? thread heres the link: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40082 read the last few pages dre
