Anyone notice the following: Since Clint moved out of Stevie's appartment, Clint has struggled to score goals, but Stevie's game has improved. (Cue the "Odd Couple" music). Could it be that Clint misses the simple pleasures of having a roommate who knows everything and can do everything for him (can translate those endless German 'Debatte' shows, or can w/ease buy Clint his favorite 'Suessigkeit' at the local bakery, etc. etc.). Also, Stevie likely was the social chairman for the weekend. Clint would have nothing to do/planned, and voila, a group of Euros coming to the house for lively weekend discussion. No wonder Clint is miserable and goal-less: He looks in his new tiny fridge, and all he sees is 2 week old kaese and misplaced muesli. Stevie, on the other hand, has been able to get back to his normal life (thank god!). Fully integrated as the 'German', Stevie can invite his German friends over, and stick to interesting Euro subjects, while not having to switch over to English translations and endless conversations about the TV show 'Friends'. He doesn't have to be embarrassed about Clint not picking up, or shaving for company, or (heaven forbid) Clint's latest outrageous hairstyle, which would always throw the company for a loop. Like all breakups, one always suffers more (and one feels a little bit free). For Clint (and the team's sake), let's hope Cleetus can find another roommate that understands the uniqueness of Cleetus, and yet can watch/translate 'Tagesschau' while ordering a 'Telepizza' from the local service...
@ Jri: The best article I read yet in this board! Even though I haven't heard the phrase 'telepizza' yet (why do all these debattes end in discussions about the German language anyways?)
Just teasing you guys Squig- you know stereotype of German (intellectual) student culture interested in dry, non-solvable subjects (at least existed when I studied there). Also, I'm thinking of the 'roundtable' type TV shows that discuss certain subjects from different angles (several guest debating)... Telepizza was a term I saw in Spain (a successful delivery pizza knockoff of US style pizza-delivery companies)- just assumed the term had been "Euro-ized" by now. I guess I supposed wrong
@ Jri: a bit of teasing is ok, and the stereotypes you used are actually a lot better than what the English use... (a friend of me visiting brazil was asked whether she was related to Hitler or not)... well, whatever That Telepizza should be a Spanish term (or it was just the name of a company in Spain?) We usually use the word 'Pizzabringdienst', which is the translation of 'Pizza-delivery-service' ;-)... Hey, there are Americans out ther who don't think that we only eat Sausages, Schnitzel and Schweinebraten! i'm surprised (to stay at stereotyping...) back on topic: This game is important. If we don't win against 1860, against whom will we win???
Yes, a win is really needed. But it is still 'ok' to grab a point AND if all other teams in the hunt fail (like Kaiserlautern, Frankfurt, etc.) Of course, if Hannover lose next week, they don't deserve to stay up....really even a tie would be totally unacceptable given the recent bad run.
Verdammt Clint. This is the IDEAL game for you to play one of your "I played like crap but I scored an important goal" that we are all used to. C'mon Clint- I talked to Stevie...he'll let you sleep over one night this week IF you score!
Gelbe Karte gegen den 96er Cherundolo. How many is that? Does he have to worry about suspension due to accumulation?
That's seven for him. Three more, and I believe it's either another one game supsension, or two games.
Jesus, why not just play the whole game in Hannover's half of the field at this point? Well, Hannover does still have three strikers on the field, but the midfield at this point is kinda negative...
64 - Jetzt kommt de Guzman für Mathis, von dem auch sehr sehr wenig zu sehen war...er hat schon besser für die Roten gespielt 64 - Now de Guzman comes on for Mathis, who we've seen very little from. He has had better games.
From the other ticker: Der Amerikaner ist sauer, tritt gegen eine Stufe. Trainer Lienen schüttelt den Kopf. Es läuft nicht im Sinne der 96er. The American is sour (pissed), kicked a step. Lienen shook his head. It doesn't make sense for the 96ers.
