The sure signs of spring: Dandelions Children playing Chris Carrieri and Daniel Hernandez running their mouths.
And a line like this in the media: "And even though few care, the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer are off to a 1-0-1 start, including an impressive 1-1 tie at defending MLS Cup champion San Jose. "
I dont know where jmeissen0 got this article, (I'm from KC and have never heard of the paper, I assume its Garden City, Kansas) but this is obviously a small town paper. The writer threw together some facts about everything Kansas City and forgot to get the facts straight about SJ not actually being the defending champs. And more than a few care, although I'm still waiting for a regular season game with no concert (or other promotion) to get a true feeling for the "base" attendance.
Yeah, Garden City occasionally puts together an article that includes the wizards...pops up in Google.
Daniel Hernandez: "Last year, Leo (Cullen) and me were considered the best thing since clam chowder."
articles like the ones regarding hernandez make me thank god he's no longer a metro... if i were nicol, i'd bench him.
From the Times-Dispatch article - Elliott was one of Stanford's stars when the Cardinal claimed the NCAA men's championship at UR Stadium in 1998. I'm sure that revelation will come as news to the folks at Indiana. That year the Hoosiers beat Stanford in the final.
this is always something good to see. San Jose is joining the super y http://www.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=143678&cpid=218&title=San+Jose+enter+Super+Y-League
must be joys in the locker room as well... i wonder if DH still keeps footballs in his trunk so he can play for the nfl.....
what a moron (DH) "``In the offseason, they told me they were going to trade me to Dallas,'' said Hernandez. ``Then the offseason came and they said, `No, you are too valuable to the team, you mean too much to the team.' Then you pull me out at halftime when the whole team was playing like crap. But he wants to pinpoint me and take me out of the game.'' Hernandez stressed he is not complaining simply because the style doesn't suit him. He thinks it's bad overall for the team."
i've really just started paying attention to a lot of MLS this season. is this type of stuff typical for these players or players in general? ripping their coaches in the press. it just seems to me that it's an interesting coincidence that you see two pretty blatant criticism of coaches only days after the players' union was recognized.
I don't think it has anything to do with the unionization of the players. It's just a couple of very outspoken players shooting their mouths off. We've seen it in the past.
Don't patronize us. I lived in Boston for 5 years, 0-5, and I use the word wicked a lot. Pissa occasionally. Prof
I wonder about this quote ... did he mean "pitch" instead of "punt" or is this a term with which I'm not familiar? -Digital
