3rd Degree, myself specifically, will be at the SuperDraft providing coverage for Burn fans. Right now we are planning on hosting a chat room during the draft and will be reporting news, interviws, rumors, observatoins, and other stuff from on site. http://www.3rddegree.net/
Friday Friday, January 17 (3:30 - 7:30 p.m. ET)in KC. So the time it starts is 1:30 central for us Texans.
You'll need to be that early if you want get in on MLS or the Crewe's web cast.(are they the same?) Much harder to do when their servers are being bomarded with requests from other like-minded folks.
instead of listening to webcast, join 3rd Degree's Draft day chat room. I will be posting things there as they happen with an eye to Burn impact.
I'll probably be doing both at once. I plan to turn my cubicle into draft HQ for a few hours on Friday afternoon. 3rd Degree, I know you're high on Salyer, but if he's not around who would you like the Burn to take? Also, some of the goon fans up in Chicago seem to think they can get LA's #8 and #10 pick for their #3, behind the logic that LA really wants Memo and they can wait until later to pick up Magee. Think it would be possible or desirable for the Burn to work a trade like that? I don't mean to hijack your thread, feel free to answer in the "Draft Discussion" thread.
That is an interesting idea. From discussions with Jeffries, his general thinking is that most MLS drafts have 4 or 5 guys that are much better than the rest. If, at #4, one of those guys is still sitting there I would expect Jeffries to grad him. If they guys he has labeled are not there, then trading down might be a good idea. I know one or two names the Burn like, but I do not have a list. Last year the guys they had picked out were the ones everyone else did too: Gbandi, Davis, Twellman, and Gray. Personally I would not trade down. The Burn have two picks in the top of 2nd round and there will be a bunch of P-40's left to chose from. The #4 is too good a chance to get a real gamer. IF things go like they look to be.. 1. Eskandarian, 2. Clark, 3. Magee (or with your trade, Gonzalez).... there are some really good players sitting there at #4.
I wish. But it's never been televised before, and I'm sure that if it was MLS HQ would have let us know about it a long time ago. ESPN and ESPN2 just have to show lumberjacks and sumo wrestlers at that time slot.............
Please put down that crack pipe. There is an audio webcast of the Draft done by Columbus guy, but no Radio or TV. Our 3rd Degree draft-day chat room will be here... http://www.chatfreak.com/chat/world/html/chatlogin.html?start=3rddegree
well your web site 3rd Degree is on the MLS page talking about the draft. http://www.mlsnet.com/content/03/insider0114.html
I visited the chat room and told someone there that it will be active Thursday. Will people be there Friday only?.. or will 3rd Degree be there Thursday giving a preview? TIA
The Chat room is "active" all the time. I will be traveling Thursday so will not be posting, but that doesn't mean fans can't use it. Friday morning as soon as I am allowed into the Draft room I will be logging in and will be one line from then on. At least one can hope that is what will happen. I put up 3rd Degree's mock draft today... http://www.3rddegree.net/season/picks.htm
