3 world class goals this weekend

    3. Stoichkov vs Burn. Free kick around the wall, froze the keeper.

    2. Hernandez vs Galaxy. Free kick bomb from about 40 yards out.

    1. Henderson vs. Crew. A rocket hit from the edge of the penalty area to upper 90 on the near post.

Don't forget O'brien's hesitation move to get Thorton down on the ground for the easy chip.

This is a Good Thing, when we actually have multiple goals that could be consdered (maybe wrong, maybe right) World Class Goals on a pretty consistent basis. Maybe it's just me, but these "good" goals seem to be increasing; is this a sign that quality of play is increasing?

Cobi's second goal was as good as the 3 you mentioned

What's the over/under on how long it will take for MLS to post these goals to their site?

(Other than the Burn-Fire match, I saw none of them :( )

I agree. That was a great goal. But an assist from Ruiz?!?!?!?! Stop the Press!!!!

Stoichkov goal was brilliant. Though it came off of a PANSY FOUL.

I watched the Dallas-Chicago match. MLS need apologize to no-one when it comes to quality. This was a fine match -- good pace, especially considering the heat and humidity -- with excellent goals, and plenty of action on the field. It didn't have flow and "dancing" of the Big Show in Giants Stadium the other night, but there was no denying this was a true football match.

It deserved 50k in the stands, at least. I'm more than ticked at those who claim MLS is beneath them. It's the same, old story of books and covers.

Good post. End to end action, individual skill, good combo play, lots of chances, solid defending, good goalkeeping...this game had it all, going right down to the wire.

50K? Maybe not. But 20 to 30K easy, with the appropriate atmosphere to boot.

btw, all the above-mentioned goals were great. Adin Brown said Cobi's 2nd goal was a "100-1" shot, and needed to be to curl off the bar post. Great blast by the littl' CobiMan.

The reaction of the announcers - Ty and Glenn Davis - to Hristo's goal was priceless too, both going "ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" at the same time as the ball "bulged the ol' onion bag"... ;)

I'm sorry, Cobi's goals are ineligble for consideration of 'world class'. That's just the rules...world class/Cobi...world class/Cobi. Sound it out, you can see it just doesn't work.
