Will the US make it 3 wins in a row vs Argentina?

USA 3:0 Argentina (1995 Copa America)
    USA 1:0 Argentina (2001? Friendly)
    USA ?:? Argentina

Yeah, if they bring the Argentine team from Argentina. That one playing the Ned. the same week is a different beast altogether.

IIRC, the US won on an absolute scorcher by JMM from around the edge of the area off a Stewart backheel in minute 87. I also think this was the game where Zanetti continually burned Sanneh and CJ Brown on the right wing and Keller was in top form, including a PK save.

I think the match will end in a 1-1 tie. I think the Argentines probably have a stronger team, but all their traveling will drain them a bit and should give the USA an advantage.

The match should be pretty even. Argentina has been travelling while BA and the boys have been practicing and having the benefit of watching Mex-Argentina.

My guess - a draw, but a win by either side wouldn't shock me.

I think we can beat them. I haven't been super impressed by the team they brought. They have alot of individual speed and some good passing, but they are not as organized as they could be.

This side is nowhere NEAR as strong as the one we defeated in D.C. You can't really compare defeating that team with a win against this one if we get it. But it is still Argentina and a win against them would be neat.

Yup. 3 in a row against Argentina and 3 in a row overall (2-0 win over El Salvador and 4-0 win over Canada followed by a thrilling 2-0 performance against Argentina with goals by Beasley (sub) and Twellman)

I like the positivity, but no way is this group better off without Reyna, O'Brien, Keller, Freidel etc...

    I'll go with a 2-2 draw.

I voted 'yes' because I am a US fan. I did not base it on any factual information. :)

i voted yes, but also see a tie being a likely outcome of the game saturday v. argentina.

i liken this three game stretch v. CAN, ARG, JAM to the WC games v POR, KOR, POL. i know there is no real similarity, but i just thought of this stupid comparison.

the real key is how we preform in the important game at JAM on wednesday. nobody liked the 3-1 loss to POL, and i sure don't want to see us lose in kingston.

    USA 2 : ARG 1

3 in a row against the River Plate kids, 3 in a row overall. I can't wait.

    Right on!
Hopefully this will not only bring an end to the "Is the US for real?" question, but maybe the rest of the world will take the MLS a little more seriously as well.

Argentina will have better touches and possession, but the Nats will have just as many chances and will finish better. I think this will be a very hard-fought game but probably not as nasty as the ARG v MEX match

just don't everyone forget that it isn't the end of the world if we lose. :D

As long as we play well, even in a loss, than that is success, as long as the newbies learn and our vets get that much better.
