Objective judgment is more important, unless it doesn't align with his subjective judgment, in which case his subjective judgment is clearly correct and you and I and the coach and everyone that disagrees with him is an idiot.
““I repost angry tweets on here from other people’s account that are most of the time opinion based” but I’m the objective one here””
"Over their last 6 games (Saudi x 2, Australia x2, Mexico, US) Japan have only scored 2 goals from open play" So no actual counter arguments in response to this huh?
A bad run of play means they’re players are bad? If that’s the case all the players you think are good must stink. They have in fact lost to Panama twice in the past 18 months. I thought you would apply your own schtick to Japan, obviously bad results means “bad coach, not bad players”. Can’t even keep up with your own circles you talk yourself into I guess.
I just looked at their record this year. You, too, can see this information so that you can confirm, with your own eyes, that the "last 6 games" they've played does not include Saudi Arabia and Australia twice. Hell, their last 6 games DON'T EVEN INCLUDE THOSE TWO TEAMS ONCE. How's that for a counter argument?
I watched the video to see where that guy was getting his stats. He says he's only including games against reasonable opposition (he's essentially excluding qualifiers against Bahrain and Indonesia, and any of the East Asian Cup games where teams only bring domestic-based squads). So that's: 0-2 loss to the US (friendly) 0-0 tie vs Mexico (friendly) 0-1 loss to Australia (WCQ, but already qualified) 0-0 draw vs Saudi Arabia (WCQ, but already qualified) 1-1 draw vs Australia (WCQ) 2-0 win vs Saudi Arabia (WCQ) 3 goals total, one of them off a corner.
Cool, sure, so he cherry picks data points (and doesn't tell anyone what rule he used to cherry pick) and then throws out data points until his argument works. Got it.
Okay let's include the one goal off a corner, that brings the grand total up to THREE goals over those six games against non-crap opponents! With two of those three goals coming in a win over... Saudi Arabia. What exactly does that say to you very smart people?
This is also the key Q for me... Who are the starting 3 CBs, and who is our depth? I got Chris Richards as a starter. Then I got.... ?
Upcoming window: LCB: McKenzie CCB: Ream RCB: Richards or LCB: McKenzie CCB Richards RCB: Scally Come World Cup time: LCB: Banks CCB: Richards RCB: Scally Depth candidates: McKenzie, Ream, MRobinson, Harriel, GCampbell
That would be good because you have speed. But I dont see Poch going for it. Can Jedi play in a back 3? He might go for that. If not, who does that third CB displace? I’d love to see it then become a 3-5-2 (3-2-3-2) with Pulisic and Balo up top, and CP-Tillman-Weah (or Dest) behind.
Pech not going for what? I've not seen a positional listing showing Jedi in a back-3. He has played wingback.
