Halftime, 0-0 (wow, what a shocker!). Casey picked up a yellow, meaning he'll have to sit out vital Mainz clash next week (that sucks)
According to Kicker.de ticker, Casey picked up his 2nd yellow in the 60th minute and thus was sent off. Score still stands at 0-0.
Here is what the Kicker.de ticker has to say about the 2nd yellow incident. which Babelfish translates into: According to the Bundesliga.de ticker, the Burghausen keeper, Wehner, had to eventually be replaced by the backup, Gospodarek, due to Casey's foul. Hopefully Conor doesn't deserve additional disciplinary action beyond the red card penalty.
Nice, quick thinking BS- although I hope Connor doesn't mess up his chances at shot at D1/team's shot at promotion with this incident. That would be stupid to say the least (if he does/did strike the guy). That's a several game suspension (on top of the yellow-card thing next week) if true.
Don't know if I should laugh or cry: Connor with a 1,5 from Kicker last week- this week, staring a '6' in the face (maybe the tie saves him)
Thrown out What a shame. After the game last week we were all hoping for more. Lets hope he gets that Haiti call up. What happened? Frustration? Trying too hard?
I can't emphasize enough: Dortmund is close to breaking up the team (unless they really start to rally here). Koller is slipping and struggling right now. Its a real shame that Casey got the red card and didn't perform well last game. If he gets on a hot streak rest of season (and hopefully the strike to head doesn't mean further suspension), there is a real opportunity (even if less than even odds) to stick w/Dortmund, IMO. But he's gotta show his stuff now....Now is not the time to go cold (goalscoring, playing well)....
it cuts both ways.If he plays well, it will work out well for him, with Dortmund or with another team.It is not like BD is the only team in Europe. Staying with BD is just one option and may not even be the best option. And if he plays poorly, it won't work out well, no matter what Borusia do.
Yup, he gotta play well to get a shot (next year).. As for the team, the late "collapse" 2 weeks ago (actually goalie let in a 'saveable' ball with 8 minutes to go)- well, those 2 points could turn out huge come end of year. Those 2 pts. would have them in 4th right now. Also, Casey missing for Mainz- another huge game. Too bad. Saenko has a chance to really shine...
Olafgb- How do you think it is going to go? Casey had a yellow card accumulation (after the 1st one last game)- so he was going to miss the next game anyway (Mainz). Then, he got the yellow-red- do red cards lead to FURTHER suspensions in BL? Could the Mainz game count for both? Also, apparently he struck a guy? I'd think that could add time too. Are we looking at more than the Mainz game? thanks in advance.
Yellow-red leads to a one game suspension. The yellow isn't considered, so he stays at four yellows and the next one means a further game suspension. The incident won't lead to more as a) nobody complained that there should have been a straight red, and b) the ref saw it and made a factual decision that can't be revised by the sports court (they can only judge on matters the ref did not see during the game)
