AHH yes.. well, here it is.... i suppose we dont need to get into history and how massive a game this is... the simple thing is i think we have a better team.. We've proved it this year vs you guys (cudicini's howler blah blah).. stamford bridge is hardly an intimidating place so it should feel quite cozy down there... i have zero concerns aside from the fact that you lot have to get yours SOMEDAY... but not this year..
we win this one 3-1 (thats right, 3 AWAY goals)!!!! its up to us to set that mark and see what happens at highbury....
    bonne chance~

It'll be 1-0 to us or 1-1 my good man.

I don't see Arsenal scoring more than 2 against us. I'm with Clan on this one.

Personally, I'd like to see this:

    Crespo
    Duff Cole
    Makelele/Parker Lampard Geremi
    Bridge Terry Gallas Melchiot
    Ambrosio

I'd really like to see what Cole can do with some freedom in the center of the pitch after his work against Bolton. Its out of the ordinary, yes. But considering the lack of success we've had against Arsenal - why not give it a shot? Send Mutu and Jesper on at about the 60 minute mark if Arsenal tire.

Here's something somewhat off topic, nicephoras, but as I read your signature it reminded me of something. In the episode of the Simpsons where they go to Japan, the family is shopping in a 33 cent store to save money for a vacation. The products available at the store? Canned Plankton (approve by the Mexican Food Office), "Onions?", "Cool Ranch Soda", That 70's Show mugs, and a wall of Skittle-Brau! Homer doesn't even make mention of it, but I laughed my ass off when I noticed it.

    COME ON CHELSEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I predict a 1-1 draw here. It'll be difficult to beat Arsenal, but I'm sure we'll give our best shot.

    CHELSEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats my take on it as well.
Of overriding importence is not to lose the first leg, be that at home or away, when at this stage of the competition.I'd very much like to see a win obviously, but, a low scoring draw would be an acceptable result as well.

We must set ourselves up for the second leg, and in such a way that a goal from us at Highbury - never a difficult task for us - will have a huge impact on the tie as a whole!

Folks have you seen this one ?
'When you play your wife at tennis, you can love her to death but you still want to beat her!'-Wenger.

That is why I hate Arsenal and it will drive me nuts if they win this one. Especially if they score one of their many dubious goals. The refs seems to give them a lot of breaks this year.

The fly shy Dennis Bergkamp will be able to make this away Euro fixture. But no matter, I’m sticking my neck out. We have the Duff-er and I just got a feeling. Chelsea 4 Arsenal 1 :)

I think Bergkamp should only be allowed to play if he flys from Stansted to Heathrow

Actually, Wenger suggested they would "send him in a boat down the Thames" so he'd feel like he was in Europe...

Well, boys, 11 hours to Armageddon, and seeing as how Chelsea hasn't given up a goal in their last 5 CL matches, we'll see if the overwhelming force of Arsenal's attack can move the immovable object of Chelsea's European defense.

    Come on Chelsea

Can't make the live showing so will have to wait the extra 6 hours until the replay at the bar. This afternoon is going to be unbearable.

    Chelsea 2, Arse 0

Lampard with a double to silence the critics

It won't be pretty and as Wenger has pointed out, the continental referee is a real wild card. What if Vieria gets sent off after 10 minutes for one of his typical Premiership challenges? Chelsea doesn't have to change their style of play in the CL. This hurts at places like Scarborough, but plays to their strengths now.

Honestly, I expect a 0-0 draw, or a 1-0 Arsenal win if the Chelsea defense breaks down. Dour? Yes, but that's the European game at this late stage in the CL. Ranieri will play a 4-5-1 and call it a 4-3-3.

I would prefer to play Arsenal to force them out wide, but Chelsea don't have the greatest defense against crosses. But funneling them into the middle is just playing to their strength.

It could be a long 90 minutes.

Better at the end there for sure.
Ref is letting quite a bit go, wonder if he'll keep that up?

Duffer needs to lose his man more, he can't turn around without hitting somebody, let alone pass the ball. He's clearly been marked out by Wenger.

Makelele is out of sorts - yet again.
