Nothing makes public funding for a sports complex look good like a proposal for low-income housing at the same meeting.
1) The Frisco article doesn't really give us much insight on actual feedback or issues raised by citizens... I guess that's good. 2) Is 13,000, with 4,500 temporary seats, going to be enough in Rochester? I mean, I'm all for SSS, but when we're starting the attendance bidding @ 13,000...
Apparently, from a post elsewhere, they were on the phone with MLSHQ this week to determine whether or not it was. Those temporary bleachers will be replaced with real full-time seats in Phase II.
Rochester Stadium Quote From the Democrat & Chronicle.. Here's America in a nutshell... ..from a neighbor to the stadium--- I’m not unhappy with the stadium,” she said. “I think progress is wonderful, but not at my expense.”
Phase II So we're looking at 17,500... is that the max for that phase? is there a phase III? it just seems small... but maybe for the Rochester market it would be enough...
Re: Rochester Stadium Quote Yes, we are really bad people here in America. Nowhere else in the world would people have the gaul to look at a proposal from the point of view of the impact on themselves. Pardon me, if I don't step up for the self-flagellation.
Re: Phase II That number is just fine. Up until a year or two ago Southampton played in a stadium whose max capacity was under 16,000 (+/-). Its not so much the capacity that counts in MLS - its the control.
From the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle... It's good to see that the allegedly soccer-savvy yokels in Rochester have got an appreciation for the CONCACAF Champions' Cup.
well, to the writer's credit... it's not like regular writers for mls teams don't call it a preseason match
Re: Re: Rochester Stadium Quote Man, the sheer, unintended irony of this post... Gaul. I love it. Somewhere, Chirac is grinning. It's "gall," dude. But, under the current geopolitical diplomatic circumstances, I'll take gaul.
