Looks like MLS is slowly but surely becoming more mainstream. http://maysville-online.thimblemedia.com/article.asp?catid=6&articleid=4264 Time to relocate the Earthquakes to Kentucky, perhaps?
Big props to the Globe for sending FDA to the Azores, I'm sure that it's probably a really rough gig for him but it's good that they did that.
Well I think his work is a little inconsistent and often a little less than inspiring. But I think overall both Boston papers do a pretty admirable job giving the Revs a level of coverage they desirve. That's not to say that I wish there still wasn't more, but they do have pretty reliable coverage based on the newsworthyness of the team. It's not uncommon to see a Revs story or photo on the top fold of the Globe sports section, and the Herald will frequently tease a Revs story on their front page.
While I'm happy FDA is in the Azores, let's not fall all over ourselves praising the Globe. The Portuguese government picked up the tab for his trip.
Funny you say that, because if IIRC, Louisville, KY had the highest Non-MLS city ratings for the All-Star game last year. Maybe there's something to MLS in Kentucky.
How about they relegate that sorry team from Texas to the A-League? Heck, their attendance was worse last year, lets move them to Kentucky. Bottom line is San Jose is in better financial shape than most of the other AEG teams.
