Sat. 3/1 McBride Middlesborough vs. Everton SDD on FSW. Maybe I should predict that he won't start again? Tree, once again, I'm waiting for the replay (and watching Energie) so comms are up to you, if you feel like it.
Everything I've seen has it on Sat. (Obviously sf is talking about the delayed broadcast when he says it's at 3pm. The radio broadcast will be at 10AM.)
Evertonfc speculating that Campbell may get the start. Duncan Ferguson, Nick Chadwick and Tobias Linderoth won't be in competition for places. -- Moyes http://www.evertonfc.com/news/article.asp?id=5973 http://www.evertonfc.com/news/article.asp?id=5974
If there are no objections, I would like to do the PbP. I'm getting to see the game LIVE over here via Australian free-to-air TV, on SBS, at 2 a.m. local AEDT time on Saturday night/Sunday morning... ahead of Fx Sports World's same-day delayed broadcast. So if anyone needs a live PbP done, I'd be glad to do it, since I'll be staying up for the game, anyhow.
sportinglife.com is reporting that McBride may get relegated to the bench... http://www.sportinglife.com/footbal...STORY_NAME=soccer/03/02/28/manual_082808.html ...and skysports.com says exactly the same thing, noting that Kevin Campbell may be set for a recall after his impressive play off the bench last weekend. http://msn.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,2760-1082116,00.html Basically echoing what DK said in his posts, but from additional sources.
The "other" story here, which might be of some interest, is that it marks Juninho's first return to first team action for Middlesboro this season. Not sure of anyone is following Everton - I think people are just following them because of McBride. Anyway, that's the main story from the other side. The relevance? - I doubt Juninho will start - however depending on how the match goes, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in as a second half substitute - he could really create some problems for Everton + has looked sharp in reserve action/training sessions. Class player with the right surrounding players. Interesting match, to me at least. Hopefull McBride will do well. But the main one I'm intrigued with here is Paulista, and how he holds up in his (rather eventful) return.
Apparently Juninho has 'Boro fans very impressed. Last week he played in a reserve match in which nearly 20,000 Middlesborough fans attended...amazing.
Re: Sat. 3/1 McBride Middlesborough vs. Everton looks like tiger is on PbP since he's got it on the tube and can give better comments than listening on the radio...beside's if McBride isn't on the pitch, I'm not really interested anyhow...
Woo-hooooooo!! I've got PbP duty tonight... I'm all over it (like a bum on a ham sandwich). Looking forward to it. Will provide PbP whether Macca plays or not, although not as detailed if Brian doesn't play, certainly. Also, with Juninho making his Premiership return, I'm looking forward to that, too. He'll be playing in his third tour of duty for the Boro, and he's a fair dinkum Teeside legend-- and a World Cup winner, to boot. Should be a wonderful game this evening.
As a season ticket holder ill be there today and ill report back on how McBride did but the main thing about this game is the return of god himself,JUNINHO.
I for one am thrilled to see Juninho back. He is one of the good guys in soccer and lights up the field with his passing and dribbling. That said, I have my fingers crossed BM will start.
As previously said, I think the greatest thing that could happen....is that Everton does nothing with new line-up for next couple games....and then Everton winds up having to start McBride in his last match....and he gets a brace/hat-trick (!).....he would then become the "legend of McYank" and have them clammering for his return..gg
Broadcast is on here... Important game for Everton-- if they win or draw, according to the announcer, and if Newcastle beats Chelsea, the Toffees leapfrog into fourth place. And a potential Champions League place, at that. Maybe a bit more incentive to play/sign McBride?
Lineups on the screen... and as Buff hinted, Macca's on the bench, with Campbell preferred to partner Radzinski up front.
If I have to look for a silver lining with McBride on the bench, I'll pick this. Maybe this allows Brian and Rooney to enter in the 2nd half, partner well and score a goal apiece.
1-0 Everton-- Watson on 23 minutes. Horrible defending by the Boro rearguard. Watson's finishing comes as a result of another effective run down the left by Radzinski.
