After the conclusion of the 3rd Uefa Cup round, it is definate -- Switzerland gets a 2nd Champions League spot starting in the 2004/05 season.

This is great, now FC Basel and Grasshoppers both have a shot at qualifying...(after next season)

Does that mean that LNA will get a fourth UEFA spot? That would be great. But the fact that Two CL spots are availiable are awesome. It should be fun to watch the two battles in the spring. Basel vs. Grasshoppers and everyone else for the other spot.

UEFA has noted that FC Basel has recieved 5.4 million Euros to date from their participation in the Champions League. Not to bad. Lets hope that they use the money to keep players, instead of selling they off. Does Grasshopper and Servette get money from UEFA games?

    1. No, the NLA keeps 4 spots overall (2 CL + 2 UC)

    2. Basel made way more money than that, closer to 20 mio CHF.

    3. Uefa Cup games nowadays are only profitable when you play a team from the big leagues - Grasshoppers actually lost money. Uefa need to do something to revive the Uefa Cup.
