I'll be in New England in late August and was thinking about going to this game. However I also saw that teh USMNT was playing Mexico the next Saturday. Does that mean that all the Rev players on the national team will be gone. Also where should I sit, I want to be able to make noise and insult the other team and not have to deal with a bunch of little kids.
1) They'd likely be available as long as it's a full week before hand (probably fly out right after the game for camp) 2) You'd be more then welcome in the Fort, and at the pregame tailgate. Making noise and insulting Dog Crap United is not only allowed in the Fort (behind the goal).. It's the law
excuse me for asking, but where and what exactly is "the fort"? That does sound like the area I want to be. Also are their any anti-DC and pro-Revolution chants or anything I should know?
Section 143, right behind the goal at the "lighthouse" end, is the Fort, home of the Midnight Riders (an Independent Supporter's Association) as well as the Rev Army. We stand for 90 minutes, we sing, we chant rude things about the opposing team.. we tailgate.. and have fun. I'll try to find some photos that show us in action
Oh before I forget.. don't worry about learning chants.. you'll be hearing em all the time from the section, and they're really easy to pick up.
Here's a shot from the Fort.. I think the Revs just scored a goal, that's why the Minutemen are shooting... and the flag is up.. Either that, or the ref just pissed us off for the last time, and that's prepatory to a bayonet charge
Oh yeah, that's a Rev Army one that gets stuck in my head for days after a game... We're blue, We're white We're fuckin' dynamite (or We're here to fuckin' fight*) Revos Revos You're red, You're black You take it in the back DC DC (Or Metros Metros) * I may have misheard it the first time, but I'm pretty sure I've heard it both ways. Rev Army folks, correct me if I'm not accurate on any of this...
