I think so. That doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t be sold, but I could easily see a scenario where a club buys him and immediately loans him back to the Rapids until January—or even next summer. The most important thing for his development right now is playing time, and with the caliber of clubs being linked to him—Barcelona, Liverpool, and Napoli—that’s far from guaranteed if he moves immediately.
Agreed. I also don't think we make the Murphy trade if we think we're selling Herrington this window, just for depth reasons. My bet is that the Rapids have put a (reportedly) $25M price tag on him as the number they would need to lose him completely in the next 6 weeks. With a loan-back clause we'll sell him for $15-$20M.

Can fans pick where Herrington goes? Sure, I want the club to get the biggest transfer fee possible, but I also want him to land somewhere he'll actually play rather than spend a year or two glued to the bench. If I had a vote, I'd go with Ajax or RB Leipzig. Their track records for developing young talent speak for themselves, and both clubs have shown they're willing to give promising players meaningful opportunities.
My vote, per Jason above, is Arsenal and then back to us. They signed Saliba at about the same age, sent him out for a couple of years, and now he forms along with Gabriel the best centerback pairing the the EPL. I cannot understand why Arsenal are not in the hunt for him. Is there some legal restraint because Kronke owns both clubs?

Nothing concrete or seemingly imminent. Lot’s of big clubs mentioned. A few weeks ago when he was back in Brisbane he applied for his German passport (he has German ancestry). Having an EU passport will make it easier for clubs in those countries to bring him in.

I spent way too much time tonight digging into Maziz because I don’t recall ever hearing his name. I’m no expert on the Belgian Pro League, but I know the bigger clubs and top players. Based on what I read and watched on YouTube, Maziz is a creative, technical midfielder who plays between the lines, carries the ball well, and links play. He’s not a physical presence or a high‑volume scorer — he’s a connector and a guy looking to play the ball forward. My real question is how he compliments Aaronson. Does Maziz’s ability to play between the lines give Aaronson more freedom in the final third, and does it lighten some of his deeper midfield responsibilities by pushing him higher up the pitch?

Treat it more like a vibe check. Players with ratings in the 70s tend to be above average in terms of MLS talent, but of course theres also a sizeable graveyard of foreign MLS signings in this category that were firmly busts.
An OHL fan on Reddit referred to Maziz as "technically excellent, but wildly inconsistent and downright lazy out of possession. Was let go because his wages were completely out of sync with his performances on the pitch." A very Padraig signing if we've ever seen one.
