Mihailovic won’t be but he should be part of the MVP conversation. There’s not enough respect on his name around the league. I can name 25 teams that would kill to have a player of his caliber. We are soooooo damn lucky to have him. If he keeps the pace of his first 40 matches as a ‘Pid, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say by game 80 he’s among the all-time greats in club history. Hell, he might be there be the end of the season before he even hits 80 matches.
I assume the burgundy on this graph represents the Rapids and the blue their opponents - I graphed all the @ColoradoRapids and opponents goals so far this season. Rapids (maroon) are spaced out fairly randomly. 12 of the 16 opponent goals are within five minutes of halftime or end of game. pic.twitter.com/ceq3fPAmW0— Josh (@joshtrupin) April 28, 2025

🇦🇺🟣 Sources: Colorado Rapids finalizing deal to sign highly-rated Australia youth int'l center back Lucas Herrington from Brisbane Roar.Herrington, 17, will join Colorado in January. Big talent. A lot of European interest, but Rapids get the deal done. pic.twitter.com/m1a3jhjM8n— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) May 5, 2025

Edwards needs to play somewhere regularly to figure out if he can be an MLS starter or if he'll never be more than USL quality.
I saw a couple AFL gmes (including the Brisbane Roar) when I was down there. The league does not have a very high standard of play. If the kid has talent, it's great that he's going elsewhere.
I think the "next Bombito" is exactly what the Rapids' FO is hoping for Herrington. He's just 17 and was getting interest from teams in Europe. He doesn't join the Rapids until next MLS season and will not be counted on to start - he may even see time with R2. If all goes well, by the time he is 22 to so he would command a transfer fee at least on par with what Bombito. And of course contributed big time for the Rapids.
LAFC will play Club America to replace Leon in the Club World Cup. Tom Bogert is reporting that the match will take place on 5/31. Currently LAFC is scheduled to host the Rapids on 5/31. So expect a schedule change announcement coming shortly.
We may have a second rescheduling coming. Apparently the semi-finals of the Rugby Pacific Nations Cup are going to be held at the Dick on September 13th. But currently the Rapids are scheduled to play the Dynamo at the Dick on Sept. 13th... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6338013/2025/05/07/world-rugby-pacific-nations-cup-finals-us/
Preliminary Gold Cup rosters are out. This is the 60 names that will be pared down to the 26 on the actual roster Mihailovic and Steffen are on the U.S. list KSB is on the Canadian list (but not Bombito?) Wayne Fredrick is on the T&T list Trusty is also on the U.S. list

Well done by the burgundy boys all around
Moise is apparently having surgery to repair a bone after his broken wrist earlier this year. He was able to come back in a brace for Nice's final 3 league games but scheduled the surgery right after the season.
Rapids 1 1 - 0 FSL 1 Rapids Unified 0 - 0 FSL Unified (Rapids retain Unified RMC) Rapids 2 3 - 2 FSL 2
Armas not only notched his 50th MLS victory but also improved to 3-1 in Rocky Mountain Cup matches since taking the helm 💪#Rapids96 pic.twitter.com/adxZ4J7KeY— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) May 20, 2025 If we could only say ONE positive thing about Armas (I believe there’s a number of positives and negatives of course), and one thing only? 3-1 in RMC cup matches. I think only Gary Smith was the other coach that has had a winning record in RMC matches?
Probably Fernando Clavijo too, but I'd have to double check. And Armas' 1 loss was a Couging It late in game last season IIRC.
Steffen called up for the Gold Cup and pre-competition friendlies. He'll miss Austin and Orlando for sure, possibly the Galaxy, New England, and SKC depending on how far the U.S. goes. The rescheduled LAFC game is 3 days after the Gold Cup final so he'll be back for that but his availability for it might depend on how much he played for the Nats.
Friendlies for USMNT are June 7 & 10. Gold Cup runs June 15 - July 6. That's an entire month and as @JasonMa pointed out above Steffen could be absent for five Rapids matches. I'll be furious if he isn't getting a lot of playing time with the Nats. Fortunately, Nico Hanson has gotten a couple of starts for the Rapids and Beaudry has first team minutes as well.
Seeing now that the U.S. will need to cut one person from this roster and they have 4 keepers, so likely one of them will be cut. So Steffen will only miss Austin for sure, the rest will be dependent on making the Gold Cup roster.
Also I haven't seen roster announcements for Canada or T&T yet, but KSB and Wayne Fredrick could miss games for those teams, respectively.
