Yeah that's totally dickish. I wonder what the hate is about. Must be personal because I don't see how a US fan could be so happy about it. Uncaring sure, but he seems excited.

I am furious that Landon is out and Davis is in. But at the same time, I would take Nguyen or Feilhaber in a heartbeat over either ot them.

The only real bright spot to the roster: No Brad Evans.

But remember guys--We did just fine without Donovan in 2013. Besides, could Donovan, in his current moribund form, actually help us this summer?

This is why you don't sign an extension before a WC. He is playing for 2018 already.

Ok guys, trans-posting from another thread:

Who was the second-biggest cut? Parkhurst, Goodson, or Boyd (which means that we are definitely doubling down on Altidore without a direct replacement)?

I'm really surprised he cut Edu, Parkhurst AND Goodson.

So at CB we've got Besler, RB-playing Cameron, hobbling Omar, and inexperienced Brooks.

That thinness at CB in case of cards/injuries, FAR more than cutting Donovan, is what's going to bite us in the ass.

It seems like the Klinsmanns have some sort of personal grudge against Donovan.

I'd also say that there's a chance that this might disrupt the locker room. There were quotes by Howard, Bradley, and I believe Dempsey stating things like Donovan is crucial to the team, he's the best U.S. player in the history of the game, etc. in the past few months.

Klinsman is definitely a German Agent inserted into the USMNT.

Goodson's exclusion, combined with Chandler and Yedlin making it, is a clear sign that Cameron is going to be a CB at this World Cup.

With Cameron at the CB, that means that Goodson likely only would have come as the 4th CB. And 4th CBs rarely play. So I don't mind that we took Brooks as the 4th CB.

Couldn't the Goodson cut been made when it was seen that Omar was healthy.

Posted this in another thread, but here goes...

This is the most Jurgen thing ever. The guy is ultimately a type A personality. "My team. My way. I'm the boss."

You have to bring Landon. Even if only as a late game sub.

On a sentimental level, I'm really happy for Wondo and Beckerman though. Nice reward after long careers in the wilderness.

Davis for LD is a joke. You could see some warning signs though. Watching the first episode of "Inside the road to Brazil" or whatever it's called on ESPN, I almost got the sense that Jurgen was tickled pink by the idea of dropping LD.

Congrats to Beckerman making a WC at this late stage is his career.

Thought I'd try to find something positive to say when I still feel as crappy as the day of the WC Draw...

Crap, I didn't even realize Edu and Parkhurst weren't there.

I guess Cameron is backing up CB and CDM.

So what happens when someone gets injured in the send-off games...does Donovan get invited back and decline the invite?
