Goals scored in front of a packed Wednesday away end!Things you love to see 😍 pic.twitter.com/UGn4QZAlkx— Sheffield Wednesday (@swfc) August 22, 2021 He was offside...
I don't think he is, actually. I mean, he's well beyond the last defender, for sure, but if you stop it at :04, just as the pass is being played, you can see by the lines on the pitch that he was behind Paterson and behind the ball. It does look offside at full speed, but I think the linesman's got it right. edit: I've just gone and had a look from the hightlights on youtube and was able to pause the action literally at the moment that it's on Paterson's foot. Kamberi is definitely onside.
International breaks typically only affect the Prem and the Championship in England. In lower tiers, it is only if one (or both) of the clubs involved has enough (3? not sure how many) players called to international duty that they can petition to get their game postponed. I think that's right; I won't swear to it. But I do know that League 1 is playing today, and that Sunderland @ Wednesday was on the schedule. Apparently, however, that game has been postponed, presumably for that reason. So yeah ... international weeks ... meh.
It's all kicking off in the Championship, Derby with their overpriced trophy manager are staring down the barrel of a possible 21pt deduction.
Just like v Bristol City last year, Wednesday go up early and get a penalty to put it to bed ... but Bannon takes it, squanders the chance, and it's level before you know what's happened. **sigh**
You're struggling to score goals all-round by the looks of things, Bannan should be demoted from taking penalties, let your strikers take them to build up their confidence and then hopefully the goals will start to flow.
Even if he's one of the better penalty takers I was just thinking that it must be pretty demoralising to be a dedicated striker and to think that your team doesn't trust you to even score penalties, then there's overall team morale with the rest of the team seeing that they have strikers who are 2nd or 3rd choice to score 1v1 from 12 yards. Are your strikers really that bad at taking penalties or is Bannan just trying to be the main man and do everything? if I were captain I'd be trying to big up the strikers not taking the ball off of them.
