Potentially a bit of a banana skin today.

A fairly even game but another 3pts and clean sheet away from home. Wigan losing too. Happy days.

Shrewsbury's home defensive record is almost as good as ours so it's not entirely surprising, it's a good example of how we're going to struggle next season against Championship defences.

1-0 up against 10 men and we ducked it up, wheels are coming loose and the pressure is somewhat back on now.

We fell behind early, tied it up and then "ducked it up" in the second half.

    Lost 3 - 1.

    Oh well, minor bump.

Wigan fielded a weakened team in the Mickey Mouse trophy semi final against Sutton United and lost on penalties. We're just two wins against League Two opposition away from winning a trophy. I'd go for it now we seem to have thrown away the League One title.

Warne rested players so a very good win. I think Hartlepool are the team who knocked Wednesday out so they had a good run. It shows how we have a fairly decent squad I suppose.

Rotherham boss Paul Warne told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"It's pretty amazing. I said to the players at the hotel before the game 'do it for your families, do it for your mum who drove you to training every day for 10 years or whatever'.

"It's a nice way to give something back to the people who love you. They don't know it yet because they're young men but when they're older and have kids of their own they'll realise how important it is.

"I said if we're going to lose, give it everything. I know we made eight changes, but we had to do that. The subs came on and made an impact and I'm really pleased.

"The conditions had an effect but our better players imposed themselves on the game in the second half."

Up two inside 15 minutes and pretty much under control, it looks. Maybe a bit nervy after conceding late (I know nothing of the game, save the goals), but I'd guess it was straightforward enough. More dropped points would've been cause for concern, but this will calm some nerves. The Rov'rum promotion train is back on track.

Absolute nightmare today, dare I say Warne was trying to be too clever resting players. I know I've said we have a fairly decent squad but you can't afford to rest nearly half of your regular starting 11 in a league game unless you're Man City.

A fatigued Richard Wood could have done a better job than MacDonald today, even if MacDonald hadn't been sent off in the first half.

MK Don's will be licking their lips looking at the table now.

HMS Piss the League just hit an iceberg.

Former Rov'rum gaffer and fulltime fat bastard Steve Evans has been appointed at Stevenage FC in League 2.

Let's all take a moment every Saturday to wish SFC's opponents - whomever they may be - a bit of luck on the day.

Sutton were 2mins away from lifting the trophy and the way they (and we) played they would have deserved it. We only really got going in extra time whether that was due to us having better fitness or not no idea but it shows good character. Hopefully we will take a lot of confidence out of it going into the 3 horse race for automatic promotion, it wouldn't have been easy to pick ourselves up if we had lost this.
